Thought he was saying "Thank you for the future". Which is what I put up on one of my posters for the cover contest. Whoops.

Thanks for posting the songs and the scans! You know it's funny, I too thought he was saying "Thank you for the future". I was listening to it in the car the other day, and my wife couldn't make out he was saying; she thought he said something about tofu. At least I can sing it right now!

But Diary of Amnesia is a really awesome song. The intro reminds me of a 90's alternative ballad kind of. The piano is a really nice touch, the solo is beyond bad ass, and Sawao sounds pretty good in this song as well. I'm just really curious to know when that song was written, because while it feels like it's from sometime in the mid-90's we've seen no indiation of that anywhere. If this is something Sawao has wrote just in the past year, I'm totally on board for whatever is coming up next. That song could've been a single in itself as far as I'm concerned. Are there any other scans or liner notes from the single to post? Just curious to know if there's anyway we can find out when Sawao exactly wrote that song.

I guess I've become accustomed to Yamanaka's English. "Take off for the future" was clear to me the first time I listened to the song.

Not to worry, it's only for Future and Diary of Amnesia but I may consider your other translations in the future so I'll keep that in mind haha.

Actually though? Cause I think most of the strengths of Future (haven't listened to diary of amnesia yet) are in its writing - that older golden age songwriting - rather than, say, the production or sawao's singing or whatever other variables that aren't writing. Like, I'm sure they could go back tot ll the studio and make rehash Daydream Wonder or Sunday and make them sound hella good.

Hopes are up, of course. It's a good sign that Sawao has done some reflection on the fact that the last several years of material were pretty half-ass. I mean how can you worko recording Future and not think "yeah. This was good. We need to get back to this quality."
