Actually, I think the pillows were referring to themselves when they came up with that title. In the context of many of their 20th anniversary songs (1989, Amegari)... OOParts makes perfect sense to me.

What were you trying to say here GR? I can see that the chair in a way is some sort of temporary encampment under little or no shelter or casual shelter or lodging.

Specifically, "bivouac" is a military term for an improvised, minimalist encampment. It's also been adopted by campers and the like, for obvious reasons.

Here's the high concept to every peripheral complaint these days: "the music isn't as good so now I have time to notice how ridiculous the art, titles, etc. is."

My favorite cover is probably the Carnival single.

I'm not entirely sure what it's trying to capture, but it captures it perfectly.

THAT SKY on the Carnival cover, and during the PV as well... I can't even describe the emotions I used to get when I first came across them. Warm but humid, and it's about to rain... to storm. And then all of the random metallic mess, with the kids...
Good stuff, man. The single covers are really cool in general during the golden era.

Re: [2011.1.24] HORN, AGAIN - New album
I think my favorite album cover art has to be either the Kanojo wa Kyou single cover or the Non-fiction single cover.

I'm partial to the Ride on shooting star cover myself. But what's so great about the Carnival PV?

Re: [2011.1.24] HORN, AGAIN - New album
Here's the high concept to every peripheral complaint these days: "the music isn't as good so now I have time to notice how ridiculous the art, titles, etc. is."
I wouldn't say that. Most of their album covers don't suck. We notice when something looks good, the reaction is just more subtle because we expect it to look good. It's when art doesn't meet expectations that it really stands out, affirming our preconcieved notions of quality. Regardless of design choices however, I feel that some of the pieces they've produced recently are very boring and lifeless. It seems like they are continuing their liking for eclectic pieces but are failing to incorporate a sense of connectivity to the product. Ooparts in particular is very cold and sterile feeling, not terribly evocative in any way. this new cover... I honestly can't say I hate the concept. It is expressively simple. Some kind of gnarly long haired ox right smack in the middle, take it or leave it. It just feels overly synthetic, much like Ooparts. It looks like they played with the color distribution on the animal a bit, and a bit too much blurring going on. My Foot = Colorful, pretty good Wake Up = SUCKS Pied Piper = meh Ooparts = SUCKS Horn Again = meh Moon Gold = lolbad
I'm partial to the Ride on shooting star cover myself. But what's so great about the Carnival PV?
Duuuuude. The setting was immaculate. The shot with the girl and the gas mask and then the smoke effects with the kids walking around the band. Very striking. Plus those beat-to-shit guitars. Top tier effort.
