Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases

My girlfriend has a Japanese friend there, she might be more than willing to do us one favor
She'll have to compete with all the pillows fans to get tickets (it's done via a lottery system, as far as I recall, and the fan club members get to do an initial lottery for a certain number of the tickets, so they get two chances instead of just one to get tickets). It's really, really hard to get tickets for one of the more desired shows for some bands in Japan.
DAMN... Now I know what you were emplying when you said it was going to be REALLY hard. I feel really bad now, I need to find a way. That kind of leads me to my other question, how do you become an official fan? I tried to find a link through their official website but failed. Do you have some buisness to take care of or something? How come your not planning on going. I automatically thought once when the date was set, that you'd be the first to jump on this.

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
I'm in college, and can by no means just come up with two or three thousand dollars just to go see a concert and spend a week in Japan, as much as I'd love to.
I'm not meaning to discourage you from trying, I'm just letting you know that it's going to be very difficult.

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
Yeah I know now that its going to be more difficult than I imagined. Thanks for the advice *edit: Holy shit!! I just got an email from this Japanses girl named Hiromi and she gave me info on tickets and the fanclub, though I already knew the info she gave me, it was still awesome to get some feedback! It made my whole day. I wrote back to her (tried to type a little in Japanese but I'm still learning XD) Can a japanese phone number be dialed by an American Cell phone?

I'm going to try to make it to the Budokan show as well, so let me know if you have any luck figuring out the ticket situation, I would appreciate it very much!

15th Anniversary Lives, Busters on the Planet, etc... Unless if they were talking about some newer version I was not aware of.

I think we're talking about the one on the PPGTY DVD. The "yeaaahh, ONE LIFEEE" at the end version.

Just so you know, I'm not just poo-pooing the idea of trying to go, I've been talking to one of the people I know on Mixi about it to feel out how difficult it would be, and she said that Straightener didn't sell out Budoukan last time they played there, so you might actually be able to get tickets to this even if you get there the day before the concert.

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
Oh my god YES!!!!! The only problem is where am I able to buy the tickets? The email I got said i had to either purchase tickets through the official site or Disk Garage. I need help translating and all that. I'll come to you Mare, for little help, in my Japanese class, one of the teacher assistants is my friend and he said that he would help me, he's a ryuugakusei (Exchange student) I emailed the fanclub to see if I can become a member. They haven't emailed me back, but my hopes are getting better. But you have to count in the fact that the pillows are a lot more popular than Straigtener. ... Right?

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
I would say that Straightener is probably more popular than the pillows in Japan.

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
am I the only one that thinks that all this awesomess may be a sign or something about the pillows coming to an end...? not that I want them to but it seems like a big shot of nostalgia just hit me...

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
Its probably just you. Why would Sawao ever quit now? Their work is just as strong as it was 8 years ago, they're always making new songs and touring nonstop. I had some thoughts of that myself. But I feel that the pillows are still going strong. This is just a HUGE celebration of their accomplishments and how far they have come as a band.
By the way, my friend told me that she saw the pillows at a local High School during their School of Rock shows and she got their autographs and pics. She told me that it was like a class, Sawao was the teacher and he tought them a little about Rock'n'roll, haha
