Me and my brother were both very sick, so when we drove to L.A., we basically brought nothing. Not even a camera. I also wanted to bring my Strat, but alas, I was too lazy.

The show was good and all, but when Sawao said something about new songs being good songs as well, I knew he was going to play a lot of the FLCL track. Almost everybody there came for that, it seemed.

I interpreted that line the exact opposite way, I guess because I've always had a slim hope that they'd play something here from PML or something similar...

Sawao: "I discovered that good music is good music, whether it is new or old!"

Me: "Holy shit, are they going to play something old? This is the best day ever!"

Sawao: "Ride on Shooting Star!"

Me: "There is no God."

Where did this happen? The three of us end up leaving about 5 minutes after they kicked everyone out. We weren't looking to get anything signed (Kimi did want pictures though) but we figured they weren't going to come out side since they did have to get some sleep in before they hauled ass to Texas. Plus they would've been mobbed. :dizzy:[/quote]

they came out at 12:30ish.

there was barely any fans left, I'd say 20 people tops.

I wish they played some old music. They should ask for requests from the audience. I was humming Kool Spice that night.

12:30? We were busy getting lost in the freeway at 12:30.

Can't expect anything less than that to be honest. You'd think that this being their 3rd time they would've mixed up the set list but oh well. Anime aside, it's always good to hear FLCL songs live. In that regard I guess I can't complain.

It's good to see the pillows live, period.

BTW, what do the noodles stickers look like?

I was dissapointed in the show. :|
Mostly FLCL tracks except for Wake up! dodo, ladybird girl, and THIRD EYE I think. I forgot.

Manabe seemed really excited though.

noodles had the I <3 AY sticker plus one promoting Cover Me Shakespeare.

Melonhead, I was wearing the Mickey Buster shirt and i had a blue sweater tied around me. Don't know if that helps, cuz several people were either wearing that shirt, Rock'n'Roll Sinners or the Catskull, besides the new shirts.

Uh.. im just going by what videos I took, so i know im missing some songs:

I Think I Can
Carnival
-some talk about getting lost in Los Angeles, enjoying the rock music, and thats how he got inspired to write Ladybird Girl.-
Ladybird Girl
Crazy Sunshine
-the "good music" talk
Ride on Shooting Star
Little Busters
Third Eye
-talks about how Japan doesn't let you drink on stage. then chugs his beer.-
Hybrid Rainbow
Sleepyhead

uh.. im missing Advice, Blues Drive Monster, One Life (or Ron Rifefu) somewhere in there. XD

I want them to play the old stuff as bad as anybody, but personally, I don't care if they play the FLCL songs. continuing to label them that way takes away the fact that they are still songs, still came from their respective albums (except I think I can) and are still catchy as hell. And the short setlist probably isn't their idea. Arent the venues in charge of time constraints and stuff? if not, then the fact that SXSW was just the next morning away was probably the reason for it.

I was wearing glasses half of the time, and a long sleeved plaid shirt. Then I dropped my glasses and couldn't find them after.

I think Advice was right after Third Eye.

QFT. You need to post more often lol.

Pretty nice setlist, the only ones of those I saw in Kyoto were Ride on shooting star, Little Busters, and Third Eye, so odds are most of the songs at SF are going to be ones I haven't gotten to see live before. :D

Oh shit, I think you were standing behind me. And then I moved to get a better view and you politely told me to get the hell out of your way. :X

Yes/no?
