 Re: [2011.1.24] HORN, AGAIN - New album
I listened to this like once or twice when it came out. Trying to listen to it more thoroughly now. 'Limp tomorrow' was a great start, and I like 'Give me up' too. It probably needs a few more listens but right now 'Lily, My Sun' is just blah to me. I'm just not feeling the heart in it. 'Nobody knows what blooms' starts off very sweetly, and then the middle... eh. It may grow on me, though.
I don't know about WAY better overall, but OOPARTS does have Primer Beat going for it...

Clearly the strategy now is to release something worse to make the previous release look better. I liked Horn Again and OOPARTS about equally. Some good songs, but a little more than half of them are mediocre at best.

 Re: [2011.1.24] HORN, AGAIN - New album
As time as passed, I agree. Horn Again ends up around OoParts for me, too. Ooparts has some really... in my opinion crappy songs, but Horn Again has a lot of "just pleasant" music as well. And they both have a few "hey, that's pretty cool!" songs.
OoParts has "Beyond the Moon", "Ameagari", and "Primer Beat". Those three are pretty great.
Horn Again? "NKWB" and "Movement" are notable for me.
The rest stand as they do, but in the end I can't say that Horn Again has a huge edge over OoParts. It just lacks the less desirable traits of the previous album. An improvement over OoParts. Not quite at the level of Pied Piper? Sounds about right, for me.

I'm sure you all hear it too: Gloomy Night Lily, My Sun Biography Doggie Howl However you feel about the melodies of the songs themselves, it doesn't help that the guitar sounds flat. I could happily hum Lily, My Sun at any given time from start to finish, but in my head it will always sound better than actually listening to it. It's neat how the brain can embellish and make adjustments to something you are trying to recall. (Someone should get on that already, we're only a couple decades away from that superfuture we're always dreaming about.) So if they got the best mixing software and excellent equipment, how come the guitar in those tracks is so blah? I've heard you guys blame some Line something dojab that Manabe is using, but I'm just going to go straight through that and say it sounds like they didn't put proper care into recording and mixing on these tracks. Gotta get that crusty old man gunk outta those ears. More thoughts later, wrestling is coming on.

The only shit songs on Ooparts were "FOXES" and "LIFE SIZE LIFE". Everything else was catchy. Compare that Horn, Again where the only good songs were "Nobody Know What Blooms" and "Movement" the album as a whole was total trash.

Also, Primer Beat. And Horn, Again isn't trash

Your right Your Order and Primer Beat are amazing songs. That's why the only thing that brings down that album is foxes and life size life. I can't change my opinion on Horn, Again though. This is their first album I've heard that I really don't give 2 shits about.

 Re: [2011.1.24] HORN, AGAIN - New album
Oh, I read that as Foxes and Life Size Life were the only songs that weren't shit. My bad lol. I enjoyed Horn Again a lot more than Ooparts, that's for damn sure. However, they both fairly suck. I'm at the point where the only pillows song I listen to probably daily is Ano Hito, so you can imagine how much I listen to anything released in the past five years.

Ohplz Mare-kun, all those symbols are all scrunched up and junk anywho. Who cares about spaces? Also, I didn't translate the track list. Blame the hack that uploaded the disc.

I've made this correction pretty much every time anybody posts referring to it as the improper title. D;
