Not strongly enough to call it a bad song (below 5/10).

I have a lot of songs I dislike from the pillows. Phantom Pain is one of them. Just ugh...it ruins the entire album of penalty life.

There are plenty of pillows songs that rank below 5/10 for me (IRENE, Degeneration, to name a few), but different strokes for different folks, I guess.
Also, Phantom Pain is pretty decent, IMO.

I almost named a cat Irene after that song because it is awesome and the cat was too. Different strokes.

Re: [2011.1.24] HORN, AGAIN - New album
i really can't be bothered to read 30 pages, need the tl:dr version - is this album worth giving a listen? keeping in mind i haven't been particularly impressed by anything they've released in the last 5-10 years..
wait wait wait. i'm more than happy to admit that every single album has a few keepers on it, but i'm suddenly, painfully aware that it's been over ten years since they released a truly spectacular album..

The album has its moments. A few really good songs and several weak ones. Of course, comparing it to albums that came out more than a decade ago, I can honestly call the whole thing a shit-fest. I'd pick up 'Nobody Knows What Blooms' off of itunes. It's easily the best track on the album. If that one piques your interest, there may be a few others on it worth listening to. Otherwise, I wouldn't waste my time.

It's way better, and is more consistent than OOPARTS.

I hold that Nobody Knows What Blooms has no long-term appeal. It's a cool beat, and a few cute vocal harmonies. There's no staying power, even in the better tracks of the recent albums.

Honestly, the only songs that I go back to listen to consistently out of the last three albums are "New Animal" and "Ladybird Girl", and even that's stretching it. The rest... eh. They have their days.

It's worth giving a listen, but you probably won't end up wanting to keep it. I enjoy it though.

Like Goshin said, it's better than OOPARTS.
Limp Tomorrow is the best song.
out of the last three albums are "New Animal" and "Ladybird Girl"
my thoughts exactly. i do love me some ladybird girl though. i also just realized i never listened to ooparts either.
i'll grab em both once i'm not using middle-eastern internet. mailing it to me on floppy discs might be easier guys.

Re: [2011.1.24] HORN, AGAIN - New album
Horn Again was decent, but not very memorable. Nobody Knows What Blooms is still kind of cool, but I find that Movement is the only track from that album I ever go back and listen to. Which is saying a lot, since, like Tidus, I haven't found myself going back and re-listening to anything else from the past three albums…

This has to be the worst Pillows albums I've heard since becoming a fan of them since 2005. Ooparts is WAY better than this one. Nobody knows what blooms is amazing but I couldn't tell you anything else other than that because it's just forgettable.
