I always feel that off-topic conversations are often some of the best. Right now, there doesn't appear to be a conflict between on-topic and off-topic conversation, so I vote to let it roll until someone has something to say about the new releases. That's the rule I would use, but I'm not a moderator, so who the hell cares what rule I would use. It's up to Mare-K or Master J to make that call.

I do too, but if the sample of Fighting Pose is any indication, those of us who don't devote ourselves religiously to the pillows are in for disappointment. But let's hope I'm wrong.

[i]Pied Piper Goes To Yesterday[/i] = Pretty standard execution with some nice surprises. Some redundancy.
[i]Blue Poppies Blue Song DVD[/i] = Cool DVD, some misses for me but mostly great.
[i]1989[/i] = Great song and awesome video. Should have been on Once Upon a Time with the pillows.
[i]Flag Star[/i] = Would have been cool on Penalty Life after Mole Town Prisoner, IMO. I like it.
[i]Ameagari ni mita mabaroshi[/i] = I was really digging it at first but my interest trailed off a bit. Need to hear record quality. Acoustic live performance of it was very nice.
[i]Fighting Pose[/i] = Not so hot in the clip. It'd be nice though if the verses surprised us all with something really unique, so we'll have to wait and hear, but I'm not holding my breath.

[i]Worst[/i] = Rock Stock. It doesn't properly serve the need of a compilation album with Ladybird Girl, Tokyo Bambi, New Animal, and Mr. Droopy making second and third appearances and eating up spaces. Would disc space have made it impossible to fit the five re-recordings and 1989 on Once Upon a Time with the pillows? It doesn't need to physically exist, one compilation album should have been enough.

And also, is anyone going to get the w/Ben Kweller release? I'd like to see how those songs turn out.

That video was hella funny.
I do seem a bit paranoid that Fighting Pose might be a dissapointment, but a lot of their B-sides
have been really good and I'm not going to loose hope with this one. I liked what I heard from the clip,
very little, but it was nice to hear. I'm hoping that the full length song might be a huge surprise.

I have to admit that I don't listen to every pillows song all the time. I have my favorites, and my not-so-favorite. I do, however, appreciate every single one of them because someone put effort into making a song. We shouldn't fuss about if it will be good or not based on the clip. Just listen, get your thought about it, and take it as it comes.
