Whatever the first song was of episode 2. After that I got Ride on Shooting Star, Instant Music, and a full Last Dinosaur off of Kazaa.

Considering that I knew them through FLCL, it had to be One Life.

The very first thing I heard is the intro riff from Carnival.

I was lying in bed watching TV when I saw the FLCL scene where Haruko hits Naota with her vespa on the bridge, so I heard Runner's High first.

Yeah, I first heard the pillows through FLCL too, so the first song I heard was "One Life". The thing is, though, I didn't know the pillows was the only band that did songs for FLCL so, after the first episode, I heard "Ride on Shooting Star" and thought "wow! Who sings this? [reads credits] the pillows? damn! They're great!" and I didn't make the connection that they played all the songs in the background of the show until I saw the next episode/looked into them on the internet.

FLCL's One Life. As soon as Sawao sang, "Kitto sousa..." as the title appeared, I fell in love with the song and moved up to the Pillows by buying the OSTs, and eventually downloading the MP3s of the albums.
same song for me as well. it was two years ago when i was watching the first episode of FLCL on adult swim. so ride on shooting star plays on the end theme song and i'm like, 'holy crap that is awesome!' to my delight, a few months later the soundtrack hit stores and i bought it just so i could listen to ride on shooting star. little did i know that that one song would get me hooked on the band itself and i've been enjoying the pillows ever since!
You took the words out of mouth except you forgot to mention the price of the soundtrack. My dad bought it for $17.00 plus tax i think.was steep to him but he did'nt care so he buy it. i was pretty piss that there were no tracks available to read on the back of the cd case so I was'nt sure how many tracks were on it or ride on shooting star was in the tracks in the cd. So i thought that my dad bought the wrong one! There was a picture of haruko instead a list of tracks in the cd behind the cd case. After i opened it i found the tracks in the booklet and there it is! Track #2 Ride on shooting star. I was happy then! Of coarse 1 song from the soundtrack is'nt the only song i really like but i also like Sad Sad kiddie, Advice and LITTLE BUSTERS.
RUSH was the first song I heard because someone mislabeled it as the "opening" to FLCL. I had never seen FLCL, but I heard it was a good anime so I decided to download the song. This was about 2-3 years ago.
same here. but i think it has been even longer ago.
