Re: THE PREDATORS return
On one side this band for Sawao is an homage to Nirvana. On the other side is it really okay to start a band just to pay homage to a band that's gone?
Sure it's OK. Sawao's free to do whatever he wants. This having been said, none of us have to actually like it or appreciate the homage. I mean, bands are influenced by other bands. The influence is simply much more overt in some cases. This is one of them.
Is this stuff original or enjoyable in any way? No, not really. At least not for me. But if Sawao feels the need to put out shitty, generic music, then I'd much rather he do it as "The Predators" than "the pillows".
Chubby, you are my favorite forumer. Thanks.
Mafu you're my internet king, the sentiments are appreciated and doubled I thought the album was slightly better than the previous 2. No where near HUNTING. The last 2 tracks were the most memorable for me. Which is saying a lot because I couldn't remember what any of the songs sounded like after I finished listening to it. That's pretty bad, isn't it?

Re: THE PREDATORS return
Quite a few of their past songs are pretty much Nirvana rips.
Was that discussed much in the past? I pretty much expected nothing else tbh.
Quit getting mad at the Sawawawa.

I guessed I would like Mission, and I do. Monster in my head is nice too. (I played Monster in my Pocket for NES Mafu, rented it once from Phar-Mor way back and it was pretty fun!)
I played Monster in my Pocket for NES Mafu, rented it once from Phar-Mor way back and it was pretty fun!
Sweet! I used to play with the small plastic figures when I was a wee lad. I decided that if Yamanaka is going to use this band as a homage to Nirvana, I should be able to use the song titles as a homage to my childhood. I was kind of hoping that someone would understand my reference, so you are now one of my favorite forumers.
Anyway, this album... Not sure what to think. Rather boring, really. The title track "Monster in my head (pocket)" is pretty bitchin'. Not sure what else to say about it.

I can't bring myself to download the album. I've heard enough.

Re: THE PREDATORS return
Wow, I thought you guys were just exaggerating about God Game. But it's even worse than I could've expected. What the hell is Sawao doing? Just make a cover for Pete's sake. Kurt Cobain says he ripped off the Pixies with Teen Spirit. So what the hell do you call what Sawao just did? I downloaded the album, so thanks... but I'm scared to even listen to it. All I want to ask Sawao, is why?

Re: THE PREDATORS return
Monster in my Head was actually somewhat enjoyable. Had it been a pillows song, Manabe's guitar work might've lent it a little extra oomph, though.
Also, I'm not much of a Nirvana fan, but listening to God Game and In Bloom back-to-back was hilarious. It's a blatant rip-off. It's just sheer plagiarism. I'd never heard In Bloom before today, but yeah, Sawao's kind of a hack for that one.
