After Sawao's oh yeah around 3:10, when he keeps that expression on his face, turns and walks off screen, I laughed pretty hard. Awesome.
I finally got home and listened to that on better speakers after tweaking my EQ a bit. I'm liking it more and more. I admittedly hated the horns the first time I heard it but I actually like them after hearing it a few times.
I'm really curious about the lyrics.

i enjoyed the song alot....the video was something else though.....definitely that sawaos-head-between-manabes-leg thing was just too much in a pretty homoerotic sense. but the song itself is very cool. i dig the highly upbeat sound it has. overall i agree with some that it is better than ladybird girl. im curious to see the rest of the songs on the single now.

oooh, just heard wierd noise squirmer a 2:21.
Yeah, I liked how the solo started, (the first four seconds) but from there on, it goes pretty tragic. I liked LBG's because it went well with the drums, but in this case, it's just Manabe soloing, so all the attention is on him. The notes were too close together sounding; too buttery and machine-made-sounding. I thought the underlying melody of it was good, but the notes were played with no gusto whatsoever. It was 30 seconds long, so that makes it doubly a shame that the note variety was so limited.
Old man Manabe needs to get his ass off of that rocking chair and just go balls out.
STILL, it's a great song. Very fresh and catchy throughout.
@ poke:
I don't get how any of that part was homoerotic. OH GOD HIS HEAD IS KINDA SORTA CLOSE TO A PENIS EVEN THOUGH HE'S WEARING PANTS AND SAWAO IS AIMING AWAY FROM IT. I'M UNCOMFORTABLE NOW.
proximity /=/ intent

Correction: intro drums = Paper Triangle.

Is it me or does Manabe always look stoned in PV's?

forgot to say, i know they don't have very much in common but jun's helmet reminds me of sawaos helmet at i think i can pv
also, now that i watched for the second time: it's awesome how bass and drums walk together in this song. jun did a great job on it. i'm loving his PV/musical participation
Also: When I think about it, I have to travel years back in the pillows' discography to find a solo that was less inspired/interesting than the Tokyo Bambi solo. Even Fun Fun Fun OK!'s solo had more direction. It sounded like he had a few scattered little melodic ideas, put them in a blender, then played them twice...
That's funny, I don't have to travel very far back at all!

Nice try, but notice I'm criticizing the song, not directly raising the rest of the discography above it.
Really now, what song(s) from Penalty Life to Wake Up! Wake Up! Wake Up!
For as much flak as Mole Town Prisoner catches, even it's solo blows Tokyo Bambi's out of the water.

Well I assumed that if you paid enough attention to determine their recent work featured some weaker solos, you'd at least recall a few track names...
