Damn, CLOUDS. Amazing opinion. "It sucks cause it's all the same thing." And when I ask you to explain, that's your response?
Hahahahahaha.
EDIT: lol fixed.
Mare for mod! (He sure is online enough.)
lol so I'm not the only one who thinks so well done blank
Okay, way off there. I can easily point out mellow songs and songs that aren't just "power pop" on every album they've made since Moon Gold.
Oh I'm sorry Mare, did I need to add another paragraph or two of me talking about much of the latter half of their discography and how it's sub-par, bland, uninspired, watered down, lifeless, sterile, boring power pop? Obviously I wasn't talking about Moon Gold or anything pre-PML.
Obviously you don't have a band score, Culen. He still uses the same sort of chords that he's done all along. Try either getting better ears for hearing chords (I don't think you focus on guitar very much) or buy the band scores. Or better yet, don't make claims you can't back up.
All I ever saw him do in more recent videos is power chords, open chords, and Dsus4. Maybe Dsus2. I seem to remember him playing augmented and other suspended chord variants in the past. I also seem to remember another member from a couple years back said the same thing I did and everybody echoed the sentiments, concluding it wasn't "their sound" anymore or something like that. And yeah, guitar isn't really my thing. More of an escape from playing too much bass. I started playing guitar sometime after the pillows released Penalty Life and crushed my heart so I never cared enough to learn any of their songs. It's like beating off to memories of doing an ex. You kinda feel more than afterwards. As for the scorebook; fuck it. Way too much for what little it provides.
Or better yet, don't make claims you can't back up.
Suggesting you do the same.

You obviously missed my point, Culen, I was saying that it's obvious that EVERY ALBUM has had a wide variety of songs and styles on it. This is apparent to anybody who actually listens to them much.

Culen. You can't hardly see what chords he's doing from live videos where his hands are small and hard to see, the quality isn't very high, and the camer switches angles a lot.
As for what chords other than Dsus4 and power chords he's done lately:
Terminal Heaven's rock:
aside from the intro, he uses A7, D7, Dadd9.
Sono mirai wa ima:
Fmaj7, Cmaj7, Dm7, G+5, Dmadd9
Walkin' on the Spiral:
C7(on Bb), Am7, Abmaj7
Third Eye:
Gmaj7, A7sus4, Dmaj7(9), Gmaj7, A7
My Foot:
E6, Dmaj7, Dadd9
That's just from the few recent songs in the Best Collection band score. I'm not even going to bother getting out the My Foot one. Shut the fuck up, Culen. You're wrong, and you know it.

This is apparent to anybody who actually listens to them much.
Much anymore, in my case. I don't know why you'd be talking about all their albums in response to me trashing their last few. It doesn't make sense.

Culen. You can't hardly see what chords he's doing from live videos where his hands are small and hard to see, the quality isn't very high, and the camer switches angles a lot.

Plenty of the videos I had were pretty visible. Especially the ones from this one jap faggot on Utatane that I never shared with anybody, even Kati and GrayFox. This was before YouTube though, so I can see how you're having trouble. Even the DVD encodes look like shit. And yeah, I'll take your word about the chords. Like I said earlier, I don't care enough for the new stuff to bother with it. So the chords are still the same as always...I still get the feeling that they just aren't trying anymore.
Also I hate to be a nazi, but "can't hardly" was supposed to be ironic, right?

you know what i'm curious about now is if they'll release another single after the album comes out since the release date is only a month after Scarecrow's. i really enjoyed Propose, and i was really hoping it would be recognized as a single

Atomsk: YOU WIN the avatar/icon contest. I got Sky Blue Sky from the live web stream that someone recorded, and dang I'm liking this. Impossible Germany is easily the best, though. Why can't other modern indie bands have guitar work like that?
You may all resume your bickering now.

I do too, but I guess its safer for them, considering Culen is back in full form. He would proably stab them with a cosplay naruto kunai...

Well, he hasn't posted any today so it seems he's been banned again. Finally.

are you sure he's not just pillowsfan05? i mean who would sincerely name themselves that on a pillows forum?
if pillowsfan05 is actually someone else, i apologize but you do deserve to be made fun of.
