The last great pillows song was Gazelle City, probably. Maybe something from Wake Up, but a lot of those felt suspiciously similar to other, better pillows songs.

Wake Up had a number of hits like Century Creepers, Boat House, and Scarecrow that were very distinct. There's alot of material that I personally like after Wake Up, but I know that many people don't and as such i'd probably draw the line at Wake Up.

Scarecrow is a bit overrated IMO. The overly syrupy final notes probably contribute a lot to that, though; I like the song, but the way Sawao sings the final note will probably never stop bugging me. I kind of like Boat House, but at the same time it's kind of just recovering ground they already did better 10 years earlier with Patricia. A lot of the album feels that way to me, and quite a bit of the rest falls into the generic, uninspired powerpop territory that made nearly all of My Foot so unbearably dull to listen to.

Skinny Blues is the best song on Wake Up and I don't care what anyone says.
