Real glad they played She Her. Yoko did a pretty good job on it.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Damn, I would've loved to see that live. Anything other pre-Ivy material played?
Also,
but their songs on Electric Rays are probably their best stuff.
No. They're best stuff would be on God Cable or Long Long Chain. I suggest listening to those albums immediately.
Can't wait to hear reports from tonight's show though!

Don't forget Fuzz Hill, Ivy and lite pop. Cover Me Shakespeare has some bangers too. I feel really bad for the good songs on Metropolis (Grease, I recall, I'm just playing the guitar, Ingrid said) cause the rest of the album is pretty boring. I don't remember what's on Snap, Explorer put me to sleep. :/

I've never been able to get into the Noodles, alot of two chord songs, droning, repetitive, boring, and they just don't put enough feeling into it. The bass player is the worst she looks like she just wants to get the hell out of there. Don't mean to offend their fans just my opinion.
Jun's substitute is also nowhere near good enough to play with the pillows, my jaw dropped when I saw him get out of the car. I appreciate that he would come overseas to help out, but he just plays mostly root notes and he picks with no energy. the pillows need Jun!

Yeah, that rules out even Sleepy Head since that's got that sweet bass line...

They played Sleepy Head last year, that line is not difficult at all. Originally they were going to play YOUR ORDER instead of Sleepy Head, but I guess Monokuro's bassist can't play 5/4 or do lead runs.

Will be short, since I got sick on the day of the motherfucking concert again, so am completely exhausted x_x
Think they played the same songs as in LA, just in a different order. Hearing Rookie Jet was nice, and as usual they were fucking awesome in general. Insert minor complaint about their usual short setlist and same songs here, but stuff like Carnival, Hybrid Rainbow, One Life, and Last Dinosaur are, and will never cease to be, glorious, so they can keep this up and I'll still continue to happily attend.
Will comment some more tomorrow.
You may not have said difficult, but you explicitly implied it. Since you said it rules the song out since it has a "sweet bass line" meaning difficult in the context that you used it.

Re: New US Pillows Tour. (Seattle date confirmed)
Just got back from the SF show at Slim's... whew, so exhausted from jumping up and down and headbanging all night, and my ears are ringing. Such a great night. Here's a bunch of pics: People lining up outside. I got there at around 6:20; 40 minutes before doors opened. Merch table, with the 3 shirts, a Buster pen, and 3 noodles CDs. I got the buster shirt, buster pen (that's right), and the noodle's newest 20th anniversary CD. 2 All Ages CDs, and two shirts. Got the two CDs and the white shirt. The venue. This is about 5 minutes after doors opened, and you can already see people claiming their spots in the front. It was super packed once everyone was in. All Ages; they weren't bad at all. Tom the bassist was pretty much the life of the show with his wackiness, but the drummer and vocalist both did great as well. They did a great job of keeping up the energy and putting on a show. noodles. I'm not too familiar with their music, but the important thing is that they played she her. My god, that was orgasmic. The vocalist did a great job keeping up the energy and being the cute frontman, but like others have said, the bassist completely lacks energy. I don't think I saw her move around or have any musical expression at all during their set, she was just playing the bass. And then the pillows came and kicked immense ass. I don't quite remember the order of their setlist, but it was pretty similar to the LA setlist posted a few pages back. 90% of it was FLCL stuff; non-FLCL was the opening song Dance with God, Mr. Droopy (YEAH), and Comic Sonic. I think that was it. FLCL stuff was One Life, Little Busters, Carnival, Instant Music, Hybrid Rainbow, Advice, Rookie Jet, and their encore songs were Ride on Shooting Star and Last Dinosaur. Overall they kicked tons of ass. It's a bit tiring to hear FLCL stuff all the time, but they're crowd favorites, and they never fail to put on a good show with those songs. I was pretty much jumping, headbanging, and flailing my arms around throughout their entire set. It did feel a bit short, but maybe that's because I was having way too much fun. Also, I think Sawao's live vocals have been getting a lot better recently. His vocals used to sound almost nothing like the recordings, like he was always out-of-breath and straining his voice (you guys know what I'm talking about). Tonight though, he was awesome. Also, the pit wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be. It only got extremely pushy-shovey during their last songs, but overall it was pretty civil. After the show I got to get autographs and a photo with noodles, autographs from All Ages, and then got kicked out by the staff. Me and a bunch of other people stuck around outside waiting for them to come out, and indeed they did! I got to share a few words with all three of them and get My Foot autographed. They seemed really tired though (can't blame'em); Sawao booked it into the van before I had a chance to ask him for his autograph. So, I had to be a bit awkward and ask for his autograph while he was sitting in the van, haha. Oh well, I got to meet my idols and get their autographs, see some amazing musical performances, and overall it was definitely one of the best nights of my life. And here's my swag from tonight. What a great night yay pillows!

Ok seriously, this is making it really hard to wait until tuesday... Anyways, I might as well ask, anyone coming to the Austin show? I plan on getting there around noonish (whether that's excessively early or not Idc) I wanna have a really good spot, and hopefully meet the pillows too... Idk if I'm going by myself yet since I offered someone a ride if they couldn't find one at Texas A&M...

Looks like a good time!
I'll probably catch them the next time they come to Morioka.

Re: New US Pillows Tour. (Seattle date confirmed)
It just hit me: It would make so much sense if they put a few more mics on stage and had Yoko and Ayumi (does she sing?) do the backup vocals for Back Seat Dog. They have the right people to play Back Seat Dog. Back Seat Dog is an awesome song.
