Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
Does anybody else get the feeling like they're slowly.......coming.....to....an ...end? I don't know all these remakes of old songs are cool and all but its like theyre trying to "go out with a bang" by going through their discography history.

Does anybody else get a feeling that a surprising number of people on this board never pay attention to the pillows when they repeatedly say that they plan to keep on going for many years yet?

Let's hope they're still playing to the point when a remake of Ameagari ni Mita Maboroshi would be justified.

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
FIGHTING POSE has had a clip added in at the pillows website. It plays with VLC media player:
http://www.pillows.jp/p/newrelease.html
Track 2 is Fighting Pose, of course.
It sounds... cool! The sounds remind me of a more mellow pillows, but from the guitar work we hear in the fade out you can see that it retains a certain quirkiness.
I think that's going to be the key sound in OOparts, a certain quirkiness.

Apparently not before shitting on their classic songs. But I guess compared with thrillers like Fighting Pose even mediocre re-recordings of old songs sound good. (-_-)zzzZZZ

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
Meh, it sounds all right I suppose, but it's just a clip so I'll reserve final judgement for later. It does sound like it would fit right in on Pied Piper. With that being said, please let this new album be better than Pied Piper. Please? It's felt to me like the last three albums have gone like this: My Foot> WUx3> Pied Piper I'm hoping the trend doesn't continue. I was talking with a friend of mine who's also a fairly big pillows fan last week. When I told him Ooparts was coming out, he asked me "Is it going to have same sounding songs with similar riffs going over and over again like Pied Piper?" Ameagari seems like a step in the right direction, and I hope they run with it.

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
I liked WUx3 a lot better than Pied Piper, and liked Pied Piper a lot better than My Foot.
As for Fighting Pose, I really liked it. This will be a nice single, I think. Hopefully the album blows Pied Piper out of the water. I've got good feelings, and I'm really liking this sound they're trying (going off of Melody and Fighting Pose).

I like Good Dreams and Pied Piper much more than WUx3!

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
Well I agree with 2 of 3 disappointments there, but I honestly think My Foot blew Good Dreams out of the water. I'd even go as far to say My Foot is the best post-TYMT album. It's just such a solid album with a great opener, THE THIRD EYE, and the last third of the album is pure gold. That what I was thinking I was getting more of with WUx3, but unfortunately that wasn't the case.
