I usually just pop one of their CDs in my car sterio when I drive my friends places. I recently turned my friend Colleen on to them. I knew she'd like them, we have very simular taste in music.

it's good to tell people it's a japanese band before they listen to them.

Oh I do, trust me I do.

None of my friends are even interested in the Pillows, or any other Japanese artists. As soon as i mentioned or they hear that the lyrics are in Japanese, they automatically block the music.

I dunno why. Here in Malaysia, Chinese songs, Korean Dramas are widely accepted by most people. They don't understand them either. But when it comes to Japanese stuff, they quickly say no to it.

*except for anime, where they still regard them as cartoons, so they don't mind about the language.*

dude. that's how it is. if they don't like them, that's ok, but it means they either a) have bad musical taste or b) got hung up on the language barrier.

i began to listen to the pillows after kaneda shared blues drive monster with me. then i happened to see the 3rd episode of flcl, and when i heard instant music, i was like "wow, these guys really DO kick ass."

so i got a mix. and two weeks later, i begged for another. then, a few weeks later, another. soon, i had five mixes of the pillows, and was wanting to get an mp3 cd player so i could get their albums on a disc. kaneda was kind enough to fullfil the wish, and now i have all but 90s my life returns and special cd. the pillows have inspired me to begin learning japanese. though i had always enjoyed anime and manga to an extent, they pulled me back into my enjoyment for japanese culture. now, i have found a sort of niche for me in life, and i plan to major in japanese and international business when i go to college. the pillows have changed my life, and before them i had never been able to have a "favorite" band. now, they ARE my favorite band, and i can't stop listening to them. it's like an addiction.

i made a new friend. he liked anime.

i loaned him flcl.

i asked him if he liked it. he liked it.

i asked him how he liked the music. he liked it.

i burned him a cd of all my favorites.

he really liked it.

we fell in love.

Hmm....I don't it's a good idea to spread The Pillows. Because the min. a cliche or group likes them (besides you). Then they'll be calling you the posers and stuff like that (if that makes sense.) My mom sort of likes them, she says alot of time she rather to listen to The Pillows or any japanese rock band then Rap any day of the week.

Yeah I tell alot of people (who different people ask me alot) it's japanese and I get weird looks or talked about. And you know what I don't care. But, only like....about 4 like The Pillows that are my friends. And only 1 I think likes others along with The Pillows such as AKFG and L`Arc~En~Ciel.

Well..that's all I got to say about this for now.

Today at school some guys stopped me saying, "Let's hear that stuff you listen to."

One already had heard and decided to block it out. He told the two others it was stupid. But then the two heard it and were like, "Hey! This sounds like the stuff we listen to! Pretty cool." I walked away.

But the poor guy who had dissed on the pillows sat there looking as if he had just shot his mother. I kind of feel sorry for the poor guy.

paul. he thinks he's cool cause he was in a band. but then his band fell apart cause they sucked and he joined an equally sucky band.

that's the best thing that could ever happen to him (being ashamed for a stupid comment)
