Re: 90s MY LIFE RETURNS AGAIN
In all honesty, I was expecting them to play songs they've done more recently like Our Halley's Comet or 90's My Life. If you think about it, they literally just had to learn a bunch of new songs. Seriously, when was the last time Shin even THOUGHT about Sayonara Third Planet. It's like the band essentially learned 8 or 9 new songs for a one off show. I think that's why I can cut a little slack for them not playing a longer set. Hell yea, it would've been nice, but I think once I get my hands on that live performance of Energy or Sitting on a Paper Moon, everything will be all right. By the way Chris, do you think it would be possible to get our hands on any reviews or interviews done for this special show? It'd be really cool to hear from Sawao or Kenji on how this came to be, their thoughts, and even the thoughts of the fans on this. Like I wonder if any fans that were actually around during the 1st Movement went to these shows, as I'm sure that audience is starkly different from the audience the pillows have in japan now.

Re: 90s MY LIFE RETURNS AGAIN
This is the 25th anni Goshin. I'm sure this is all part of some giant "NEVER ENDING STORY" DVD release that's gonna come late in the year.
Edit: Insinuating that the DVD is going to have tons of interviews and extensive footage.

Re: 90s MY LIFE RETURNS AGAIN
Well, what I'm envisioning is something like combining this show and one of the 2nd movement shows on a DVD. And if we get those interviews, I really hope there's subs like they had on a couple recent DVD that came out. I think Born Again had subs, didn't it?

Subs were on the Ooparts DVD.

Re: 90s MY LIFE RETURNS AGAIN
Let's coordinate with Ladybirdgirl and try to make some things happen. I hope the Never Ending Story series continues through all of the movements, and that we get a full DVD release of the whole thing. I'm pretty sure they've already planned it, since there are notes of shows that will have video cameras at them in the ticket info on the official site.
At any rate, this anniversary is big! I'm glad they're going all out. Feels great to be a buster right about now.

Re: 90s MY LIFE RETURNS AGAIN
Great idea, I'll tell them we need translated media coverage. That sort of fell off the radar, in recent years. And if they don't start putting english subs back in the DVDs, I quit, lol. Can it be that hard???
In all honesty, I was expecting them to play songs they've done more recently like Our Halley's Comet or 90's My Life. Awesome set list. I really hope somebody uploads videos from this thing.
2. Razorlike Blue

Razorlike Blue is really surprising to see. Luckily, that's the one song from the Ueda era I always wanted to hear live. Re: 90s MY LIFE RETURNS AGAIN
That guitar looks sweet. Wish he'd busted out the white Telecaster for the first time in about two decades.

Re: 90s MY LIFE RETURNS AGAIN
Some kind of tele looking thing at least. Yeahh, they'll be raking in the cash this year. Maybe it's their final bang?

Re: 90s MY LIFE RETURNS AGAIN
Maybe it's their final bang?
That's kinda what I've been thinking. Like, it's a big anniversary and they're ending it in a big way, with all of the original members touring. They've come full circle, sort of.

Re: 90s MY LIFE RETURNS AGAIN
I can't possibly see them ending it, this was a one-off show. It's still pretty lucrative to be in the pillows. Maybe they won't necessarily do constant touring anymore, but they definitely got plenty of years left in them, I'm sure. They just want to make a really big deal out of their 25th anniversary, just like they did for their 20th and 15th... except now they can go even crazier because this is a legit milestone year.
