Yet again, I didn't say that. You pulled half of a sentence out of my post and took it completely separately of the point. The progression in this song is bad [i]because it is used in an uninteresting way[/i]. I'm "rehashing" the point because you keep telling me I'm saying something completely different than I said, then mocking me for something I don't actually think.

I knew how the rest of the verse was going to go, and the chorus was no surprise whatsoever. This is less the result of projecting genius ability on my part, and more the result of Sawao using Microsoft Songsmith in place of his backing band.

edit: I guess I should include my opinion of Heven's Pinhole. It's whatevsies. I like the chorus guitars were mixed LOUD AS BALLS, that's kinda cool, but that's only cause I have a soft spot for 90s alt rock/pop. The point is that the number of songs it's been used in is entirely irrelevant and thus silly to point out in a criticism, but you guys can feel like I'm just "trying to defend Sawao" if that's what floats your boat.

Dude, all he's saying is that since there's nothing interesting going on into the song (in his opinion), the progression stands on its own and falls into place with all the other faceless songs that use that progression. Which yeah, is a problem. Because the progression HAS been used thousands of times. If you have to sit there and be hit in the face with that over familar progression with lackluster lead, vocals, drumming, whatever... then yeah. I see where he's coming from, is all I'm saying.

Progression has very little to do with what's good in music. It's what you do on top of it that matters. Once the stuff on top gets boring or tired, you're gonna start having problems. While I enjoy a good amount of the pillows/Sawao's newer stuff, they've definitely suffered from this over the years.

I don't care who likes or dislikes the track, and I've said it like five plus times by now, but I literally was only pointing out that a chord progression can't be overused and that claiming to be able to predict a full song from 30 seconds is exaggeration and thus silly.
