Post Re: Favorite Song from Every Album
Pantomime: Energy! As has been said before, it's the chorus that makes this song stand out for me.

90s My Life: Pari no Josi Marie. The song just kind of rolls along at a nice, bouncy pace that's easy to jump around to. It's also one of my favorite running songs. :D

White Incarnation

Moon Gold: Ame no Uteba by a long shot. I loved it the second I heard it. And Sawao's vocals are great, especially the shouted "LET'S GO!" near the end of the song.

Kool Spice: NAKEEEEEDDD SHUFFFLE YEAHHAHAHAHA!

Living Field: Happy Slave, for one of the pillows' most kickass guitar solos ever.

Please Mr. Lostman: I REALLY wanted to say Swanky Street, but it's beaten out by what is possibly my favorite song ever by the pillows, Strange Chameleon. It wasn't like that until I read the translated lyrics, though. That song takes on some extra meaning when you understand the meaning behind it.

Little Busters: One Life. This song is just epic. It's a song I always find myself listening to when I'm in a really good mood or as I just walk down the street. It can also be a sort of thoughtful song that brings back memories. Full of awesome in every way.

Runners High: No Self Control. OH YEAAAH! OH YEAH OH YEAHH!!!!

Happy Bivouac: Carnival. Heard it in FLCL, fell in love, and the rest is history. It's also one of the first pillows songs I ever heard; a friend gave me this song and ROSS when he introduced me to the pillows.

Smile: Kono yo no Hate Made. The vocals are so full of power, and I love the way the song closes out.

Penalty Life: I know You. Just a downright rockin' song.

Good Dreams: Lo-Fi Boy, Fighter Girl. It's got a nice bounce to it that makes it flow right along.

My Foot: The Third Eye. It's another one of those songs that has a nice energy to it. I sometimes listen to it in one headphone because I like the way the bass sounds in the verses, lol.

Wake Up x3: Let's go with...Pleasure Song. For some reason, it really stuck with me when I heard it.

Others: Turn Back has that epic version of Our Halley's Comet, of course. The PV for that song is great too.

Post Re: Favorite Song from Every Album
::Deep Breathe::... Okay lets get this started

Pantomime: Energy- It has a punk feel to it that I really enjoy, its more appealing to me than the other songs, Razorlike Blue was great but I feel like listening to Energy everytime I come across the album.

EDIT* I have to put this in here, I recently listened to Energy (live version) I was blown away at the style they feed. They are the definition of punk rock, in the interview they are by far themselves every second. They know
what they're all about. Thats why they're so influential to us.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoNsF3ekLBU

There's the video just watch it and be blown away, Manabe's solo is just fucking the cherry on top of a
delicious ice cream sundae. It was fucking great, I wish I could experience that with all of their songs. :shred:

90's My Life: Never Find- The bass is whats most impressive, but its my favorite out of all of them. It has more of Manabe's touch than any of the other songs on 90's my life. It was like a first look at what Manabe was like, as an artist.
Its also very fun and I love listening to it. :groovin:

Moon Gold: Ame Ni Utaeba- For some reason I fell in love with this song right away, it was the chorus that made me click. It reminded me of The Beatles but in a pillows-style remake kind of way. I fell more in love with this song when I saw the PV for it, it was just a short clip though

White Incarnation: Our Halley's Comet- I don't even have to explain, when Sawao shouts "ZUTO!!! ZUTO!!!" It sends chills down my spine. It has an incredible solo, the lyrics are amazing, and the video was perfect. This was waaay ahead of its time, I feel it would be more fitting in Please Mr. Lostman.

Special CD: Ano hi to onaji sora no shita de- This song is fun and really comfortable. I would lay on the grass all day listening to this and have no worries, not a care in the world.

Kool Spice: Akanai tobira no mae de- I absolutley fell in love with this song as soon as I watched the LGTY dvd. The performance had so much passion and energy that I went back to take another listen, and I was blown away. Its one of those songs you overlook, but when you go back to it, its like a rare treasure. :whoa:

Living Field: Girlfriend- This song is absolutley beautiful and heart warmingly sad. The video is astonishing, it makes my heart ache just listening to the first few words, the horns make the song even more brilliant. I had no problem finding my favorite on Living Field, this song is unimaginably the most romantic and most loving song in their whole discography (in my opinion). I played this song for my girlfriend at the time, she cried and kissed me for what felt like forever, she fell in love with me all over again and the song has had a special place in my heart from then on.

Please Mr. Lostman: Kanojyo Wa Kyou-This had to be the hardest decision out of all of them. There were so many brilliant and wonderful songs I can't choose between them. So I chose Kanojyo wa kyou because its not on any other album, like it was the outcast of the masterpieces. Its fun and its really addictive, I love Sawao's little solo during the pauses just before the solo and just before the end. It really puts me into a trance. ^_^

Little Busters: Like a Love Song (back to back)- This is my favorite song as of late. It always changes but this song never ceases to amaze me.
I don't know what it is, but the chorus makes me feel like breaking out into a smile frenzy while dancing to the rythm as if I'm under a hypnotic command that won't allow any sadness or depression. A wall of happiness and joy surrounds me when I listen to this song.

Runners High: Lets see if thats true or not- Very smooth and brilliant song, I love the build up towards the end. Its the best part of the song, the lyrics are amazing too, I know its pretty long, but it makes it better when the end is just right around the corner, it makes you repeat what Sawao is reasoning with his feelings "Lets see if thats true or not"

Happy Bivaouc: Last Dinosaur- This would be a tie between Funny Bunny and Last Dinosaur. This album had a lot of favorites as well, but it had to be Last Dinosaur. There was this one time, I was walking with friends back to school from the mall, and I was staring at the ground and felt the wind of a car whiz by me at a very high speed. It was cold and I felt the rain drops drip on my hands and the piercing wind against my face as the first chords to Last Dinosaur began I became uncontrollable. I had no control over my body, I was going crazy like I could run for years without ever looking back. My heart was racing and all I wanted to do was rip my heart out because my chest was in too much pain. not bad pain, the pain thats has pleasure but never satisfaction. :shred:

Fool On The Planet: One Life- Sawao's most impressive lyrics to date. This song is no where near comparing. Brilliant, a masterpiece that stands the tests of time. The song has a continueous magnificence that tears when the solo rips open the sky and everything is turned upside down. I think the best part of this song is the drums, it makes your heart feel like its going with the beat of the drums, as Sawao drives your soul into the next world.

Smile: Kono yono hate made- This was another no brainer for me. I fell in love with this song as soon as I heard the chorus building towards the end. I really imagined me at the edge of nothing, without hesitation I would have jumped.
The end to me is what makes the pillows immortal. :shred:

Thank you my Twilight: Shiroi natsu to midori no jitensha, akai kami to kuroi gitaa- This was a tie between Shiroi and Thank you my twilight. But I went with Shiroi because it makes me feel weak and strong, happy and sad at the same time. The song has a solemn attitude towards what I think could be the end of childhood, innocence and wonder. How he wishes it would have lasted longer, and his anger that it will never return. I love this song, I use to fall asleep to this every night, it was my lullaby.

Another morning, another pillows: (Disc 1) Skeleton Liar- I adore this song, its like a rip in your chest that never heals. No matter how hard you try to hide it, it reveals itself to the world. Like a burden is always on your shoulder, you just want to scream. Freedom is not always granted without resistance.

(Disc 2) Spiky Goose - This was without a doubt my favorite in this album, its so different to me. I love the lead, its so heart warmingly reassuring. When my grandmother was sick, I borrowed this album from my friend. EVERY song on this album reminds me of each day I spent with her. Every day was sunny and beautiful, she will never leave my heart, I know how important I was to her and she knows how important she is to me. This song makes me fall to pieces in happiness and in tears. I'll never forget those last few days I had with my grandmother, this would have been her favorite song.

Penalty Life: noboranai taiyou (the sun that will not rise)- This song is so sad, it makes me feel the same. I never have a happy thought when listening to this song, instead, its more of appreciation for what I have and what others don't.
I don't know why this song makes me feel the way I do, but its my favorite out of the list of songs on Penalty Life.

90's My Life Returns: Boku wa Kakera- Very fun and upbeat remake. I love it, it makes me jump all over the place.

Turn Back: LIBERTY- This song is without a doubt one of their best back in the Moon Gold-White Incarnation days.
I always loved this song, it never had a down point, it still is amazing and fun to listen to. I could never get bored of it.

GOOD DREAMS: Sono Mirai wa ima- It would have been a tie between Sono mirai wa ima and Good Dreams. But Sono mirai wa ima makes me feel so alive. I can't help but get pumped and excited when listening to this song, its one of those absolute hard rock songs you want to hear live. I feel like I'm flying into the stars. The video was good but it could have been so much more. The song makes it feel like there is a super nova in your thoughts. :shred:

My Foot: The Third Eye- The song is one of my favorite fast rock crash pillows song. Just like Sono Mirai wa ima, it also gives me a rush of energy. Running towards a brilliant fire, I feel no pain, no anguish just drive!! The live for LMGTY is one of my top 5 favorite lives of all time. :shred:

Wake up Wake up Wake up!: Scarecrow- Brilliant, lyrically and poeticly. I have a hard time coming to terms with sadness and compassion. The song is so emotional. One of Sawao's songs that come straight out of his soul.

Pied Piper: New Animal - The lyrics make it more powerful, the solo makes it more deep, and its no wonder why the end makes the song feel liberating.

Wow, thats the end of it. I was going to just list them but decided to actually write out my reasons and
try not to dissapoint Blank.

For Living Field, I have to change to "Killing Field". The Killing Field is just... freaking awesome. Those guitar riffs are just mind boggling and made of win!

But the Happy Slave solo is amazing as well, one of Manabe's best. I think a lot of Manabe's best solos are on Living Field in general.

I saw this topic but forgot it was an old one. I was thinking of how I would respond when I saw that I already had - and surprisingly enough, my favorites and rationale behind each hasn't really changed at all. My opinion on the works of other artists has changed wildly over time but remained strangely consistent with the pillows.

I had to redo my list. I was reading it, since the topic came back up to the top, and I really questioned some of my choices. 90s My Life? Scent of Sweet? Great songs, but not some of my favorites.

Post Re: Favorite Song from Every Album
Eh, why not.

Pantomime - STAND UP AND GO

90's My Life - Paris no Josei Marie

Moon Gold - Sayonara Taisan Wakusei

White Incarnation - Bokura no Hare Suisei

Kool Spice - Toy Dolls

Living Field - Daydream Wonder

Please Mr. Lostman - Strange Chameleon

Little Busters - This one's definitely a toughie. But I guess it's hard not to say Hybrid Rainbow. Even with how much I love Patricia. And THAT HOUSE. And Nowhere. And...

RUNNERS HIGH - I've always had a thing for Wake Up Frenzy!

Happy Bivouac - Carnival

Smile - Smile

Thank you, my twilight - Ritalin 202

Penalty Life - Terminal Heaven's Rock

TURN BACK - Making its second appearance, Our Hailey's Comet

Good Dreams - Walkin' on a Spiral. Though maybe Sono Mirai wa Ima.

MY FOOT - THIRD EYE

Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! - Private Kingdom. Definitely Private Kingdom

PIED PIPER - Still don't have much of one. Maybe Last Holiday.

Post Re: Favorite Song from Every Album
Out of all the albums I've listened to in their entireity:

Moon Gold: I need somebody. (the main riff just really clicks with me)

White incarnation: Sitting on a paper moon. (Just wow, it always hypnotizes me.)

Kool Spice: Naked shuffle.

Living Field: Bye bye sweet pain. (This was a tough one to choose from between sunday and daydream wonder)

Please Mr. Lostman: Swanky street. (no question on this one, it easily ranks among their very best)

Little busters: One life (another tough one, but this was always my favorite, especially the live versions with Kashima's bass fills)

Runners high: runners high.

Happy Bivouac: Funny bunny. (epic bassline, also the only song of theirs that my band can play)

Smile was way too "poppy" for my taste, and I've never listened to all of it.

TYMT: the title song.

Penalty Life: Terminal heaven's rock.

Good dreams: either Orange Film Garden or Sono Mirai Wa Ima, I'll never decide.

My Foot: Title song again. (great bass riff at the start)

WUx3: either Scarecrow or Skinny Blues, I'm also stuck on this one.

I've yet to finish Pied piper, I also don't particularly care for that album.

Yes. One of my favorite hands down.

Either that or White Incarnation. White Incarnation IS my favorite pillows album.
