I will be so, so happy if they avoid songs used in FLCL this time around. I don't even care what songs.

wonderful sight
have you guys noticed wonderful sight is based on radiohead's "ripcord"?
yeah for awhile I had mixed feelings about the song. Because it rocks so hard but it wasnt completly original. Then I said "ah fuck it".
now I like Wonderful Sight better, even though the original build rights go to radiohead.
If they played " I think I can" Id go wild, but Naked shuffle still is my top dog "go crazy " song lol. No Self control would be nice though. You made a pretty nice set list though
I'm a sucker for a crunchy grungey guitar. That setlist is almost heaven. Too bad the setlist that would be literally heaven would be alot longer.

On the topic of songs being not entirely original, did you know that Radiohead's "Creep" was based off of this song?

As long as you don't just steal the melody, a song is fair game. Chord progressions don't belong to anyone, because Bach has already used them all anyway.

God, if we couldn't reuse chord progressions...there'd be no more music.
I've been thinking of a dream setlist, and wondering how much of their old-new stuff they're going to play, but I just said f*** it. Here's what I want to hear:
01. Funny Bunny
02. Crazy Sunshine
03. Ladybird Girl
04. Hybrid Rainbow
05. Blues Drive Monster
06. Carnival
07. Come Down
08. Advice
09. Sunday
10. Go! Go! Jupiter
11. Nightmare
12. Paris Girl Marie
13. All The Way To The Edge Of This World
14. Bad Dreams
15. Non-Fiction
Damn, it was really hard to cut some songs out of that list...

Good Morning Good News
One Life
Please Mr. Postman
Tashikame ni yukou
Shiroi Natsu to midori no jitensha
Nightmare
Sono Mirai wa Ima
Thank you my Twilight
Swanky Street
Sayonara Universe
Youngster
Boat House
Scarecrow
Hybrid Rainbow
Strange Chameleon
Encore: Lesser Hamster in Blue
Encore: Wonderful Sight (a guy can dream right?)
I'm hoping that they will play at least 4 of those songs on my list, but this is what they're probably gonna play
Funny Bunny
Wake up Do Do
Go! Go! Jupiter
Scarecrow
My Foot
Crazy Sunshine
Last Dinosaur
Runner's High
Little Busters
Blue's Drive Monster
Come Down
Advice
Hybrid Rainbow
*Song from new album
Ride on Shooting Star
Honestly if they did play these songs it wouldn't be too bad since I haven't heard most of them in such a long time and it'll be fun to reminisce.

This thread is pointless. The pillows will only play a mix of FLCL songs, plus songs off Penalty Life, MY FOOT and their most recent works. Why? Because they think that it's all that we know. It's enough to make you NOT want to go, not to mention the stench of unbathed Narutwats.

It isn't pointless, Jedi. Note the "Dream Setlist" title.

I was hopeful that they'd play a wider range of songs at first, but after they announced the Anime Boston show I got a little less hopeful.

That's not what I was implying. The point of my post is that the pillows will almost certainly play a set list that is not any different from their past US tours.

Amount people who would like the pillows to play FLCL, Penalty Life, My Foot, Wake Up (and maybe a little Good Dreams) >>> Amount of people who would like the pillows to play Living Field, White Incarnation, Please Mr. Lostman, Smile.
Is it unfortunate? Depends who you are. But it should be blindingly clear (and logical) that they're not trying to please the die-hard fans of pre-Penalty Life. For them, it's much more "crowd pleasing" to play what they do.
Get the hell over it, and stop being so bitter. Seriously, I'm almost positive I speak for all of IM when I say: We want the old Jedi back.

Or the vast majority of their past Japanese tours...so really, what are you getting at?

More of the old Cesar.
Also, the pillows play about the same sets here as they do in Japan. If anything, they're slightly more varied since they throw in more late 90s stuff instead of a set where exactly half of it is the new album.
