For as much as I love Sawao these thoughts have occured to me as well. He is a poser and the pillows are sucking pretty bad lately. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

It's interesting how sawao makes music not necisarily about stuff that means alot to him. But simply stuff that strikes him right. Thats pretty cool. But yeah... he pretty much admitted to there being filler songs on the new album.

I'm sure there's others, but I'm not very well versed on rap/hip-hop. I've heard the Roots are pretty awesome. The fact is, you can dislike a whole genre, but to say it's not music just because you dislike it is utter bull-shit. Who gave you the authority to criticize a WHOLE culture and music? The fact of the matter is most of the stuff you've heard is probably the hip-hop equivalent of My Chemical Romance. Would you get mad if someone said "All rock music is retarded. It's talentless, a-rhythmic noise with the same 'I love you' message over and over." if they had only heard AFI or Panic! At the Disco or something?

On-topic: IRT pillows new stuff: It's okay, but not for me. A lot of it sounds alike, to be honest. It's not bad, but it's nothing new really. However, they've been around for 20 years or so? Of course they're gonna release a few meh CDs, singles, and/or songs. You can't expect them to turn out a Kool Spice or Happy Bivouac each time, can you?

2. Sawao doesn't care about music? Well, his 15+ years making records and touring in multiple bands seems to say the exact opposite. Again, nice try, but fail.

so basically i noticed 2 things:

I don't think it's a problem that Sawao likes the fact they're finally getting more popular.
They spent so long puttng out great albums (like PML, Little Busters, RUNNERS HIGH, Happy Bivouac), but still, everyone was: "pillows-who?"

So finally after about 15~16 years, they've seen some real recognition. Yeah yeah, musicians do what they do for the love of the art, but who [i]doesn't[/i] like to see some good financial payoff?
