Re: the pillows 2010 US Tour!!!
I don't know how the tickets at those particular venues work, but at all the places in minneapolis and milwaukee i go to the will call line is your name on a list which opens at door opening (about an hour before the show), so you walk in after they check that you're you.
Slim's has an actual Ticket window; I had a will call ticket for the 06 show and had to pick it up there before getting on line.
There wasn't much of a line, but granted, I first showed up when doors were opening and the line to get into the club was already fairly long... But I've forgotten if the tickets were through a different seller then and most people got paper tickets beforehand (therefore, a lot less people using will call) or if it was the same, in-house sales deal or not. Maybe someone else remembers.
Is showing up early and picking up the ticket out of the question?
Actually, looks like you should be able to since the show is on a Friday. http://www.slims-sf.com/tickets.html@Sheer - well, I don't agree. I suppose I draw a line somewhere, like paying a bum to hold a spot for you - on the other hand, some people might say that's just being creative.

Forgot to check back. Yeah, bought online and got the tickets by the mail like a week later or so.

Re: the pillows 2010 US Tour!!!
When I last saw them wth the noodles in '08 (?), the line was wrapped around 2 and a half blocks when I got on it. Even at that length, I was able to get front row. It's all about being defensive and working with crowd movement.

I'm thinking it was more along the lines of "What a douchecock."
I guarantee you most of the people you passed in front of weren't thinking: "Hey, that guy slipping between the crows quite well! Good on him." I'm thinking it was more along the lines of "What a douchecock."
It depends. Odds are, no one will notice, unless you're exceptionally large and/or obtrusive. Generally, everyone's pushing everyone else, so a lot of it is a matter of resisting being pushed backwards, and letting yourself be pushed forwards. Everyone knows there is pushing and crowd movement, and once you pass a person, it's not like they start keeping tabs on you after that point. However, once you near the front of the stage, you just have to suck it up and say, "Being at the front of the stage is worth having the people in my immediate area think I'm a douche. I can live with that." The front of the stage is usually locked down, and once you get up there, it's really hard to lose your place - but likewise, you can't just "accidentally" end up there either. However, I assure you, that if you skip to the front of the line outside, no one will think, "Oh, he must have a friend holding a spot for him. What a smart idea; I wish I had thought of that." Especially when it happens multiple times, with multiple people, and they've been waiting in line this whole time, and you (and others) clearly haven't. I assure you that it's generally more along the lines of "What a fucking douchecock! I'll fucking kill them all!"

True. But I have a hard time imagining that MyFoot got past a line stretching for two and a half city blocks worth of rabid pillows/FLCL fans without irritating a good deal of them. Crowds shift, expand, and contract, but moving through that many people basically necessitates you stepping on a few toes.

I'd punch a few people just to see the pillows up close, I think MyFoot's cause is justified

Re: the pillows 2010 US Tour!!!
First pillows concert I went to, I ended up at the front row. Second time, I was blocked out, but still second row. Granted, I was never really more than a block away, but really, you don't even need to be rude, especially if you're maneuverable. That means lay off the confections and you'll be okay.
