Well, it also doesn't say "All Ages" next to the Austin show, so let's do some research. http://www.speakeasyaustin.com/index.htmlLooks like a music-bar hybrid, so my guess is it's 21+ round the clock. Happy hour is supposed to be going on during the pillows' set, too.

Re: New US Pillows Tour. (Seattle date confirmed)
On the delicious label site on the "shows" section it says... Sept. 13th. (tue) Austin at SPEAKEASY doors 6:00pm / adv$20 / all ages 412D Congress Ave, Austin TX 78701 On all the posters it doesn't though, also when you click the "buy tickets" link on that site I posted before it says "21+." Seriously though, why would this be the only show that's 21+? A few others have bars too (pretty sure)... I'm not raging yet but I'm on the verge of it... Well, if they ever decide to update the calendar on the Speakeasy site, and it says "21+" then I'll officially rage...

I half-assed it. Just like Sawao.
edit: I know Sawao didn't "make" the show 21+. That's up to the venue and how much money they want to make. I just know that if I were in a decent sized rock band with the fanbase the pillows have, I would pretty much insist that any venue I played at would be all ages. It's just too much of a kick in the shins to...oh...MOST OF THE PILLOWS' FANS IN AUSTIN. Like, "All ages or we're finding another spot." Someone's living room if need be.

Worst case, I know someone on this forum successfully wrangled his way into a 21+ show before in Austin (legally, at the discretion of the bar owner), presumably by asking nicely.

Yes I should, but I don't feel like hearing "yeah it's 21+" >.> ... That and the last time I called the guy seemed like a jerk... I have to call tomorrow anyway, maybe they'll update the calendar on their site by then and it'll save me the trouble... Edit: No need for raging... I sent an e-mail to the speakeasy, here's the response... I will change the ticket page. It IS an all ages show! Re: New US Pillows Tour. (Seattle date confirmed)
Is anyone driving to New York from the midwest? I'd like to go but airfare from Chicago plus hotel in the city is so much if I go by myself. Who all is going to New York that would be interested in sharing a hotel room or hanging out? I requested the time off work, so I'd probably fly (or drive) in on the 10th, and back out on the 12th or 13th. I had decided not to go, but I don't want to miss it.

I was at the Chicago show in 2006 and flew out to San Francisco last year for their show, and I don't recall any kidnapping or non-consensual sex. My memory isn't that great though.

Don't know how parking would work, but there's probably a hostel out there with parking. http://www.hinewyork.org/Anyway, bets on which new songs will get played? I'm thinking Doggie Howl and Movement, maybe Comic Sonic. They tend to stick to fairly high energy songs. But back to the topic of playing slightly older songs, I guess the thinking might be that the new songs should be played to promote interest in the latest releases, which they usually bring copies of to sell. Whereas they don't bring over copies of older albums. But but but... it would so awesome to hear some of the in-between stuff, and that would still help sell albums - people who didn't know the other songs beforehand should hopefully become just as enamored as we are and seek out that stuff too.

I'm up for hanging out before or after the NYC show.
This is my first time visiting the city so I'll act like a total tourist though.
