Waiting for scans or lyrics to be posted so I can start working on these (gotta finish up Movement -almost totally done, just have to clean it up and post - and the b-sides to it as well, of course), some cool lyrics in this one.

I've found (apparently) the lyrics for Doggie Howl. I don't know if is the right one, we will know when scans are available.

Welcome to Doggy Howl's Cooking Show
I'm Doggy Howl.
Today we're going to make a fabulous dish together
I woooonder what it could be??
Can you guess?
*catcalls*
Oh Let's Begin!

The stupid mill
Coming all over that
Don't tell, they got lost?

The stupid girl
She' a poor thing, who to support her
Why do you go in now?

Hey small fry,
I'd sing to you too.

I can be alone
The road along now, are knocked down now
No one to shove me
Because this might be, worth being free

This stupid bus
Don't remember no nothing
Are you gonna want to follow?

This stupid duck
You keep always shouting
You're for a competition

Hey saw miller
I'd sing it to you too

I can be alone
The road along now, are knocked down now
No one to shove me
Because this might be, worth being free

I can be alone
The road along now, are knocked down now
No one to shove me
Because this might be, worth being free

Oohhhhh Oooohhhh Oooohhh Oooohh Oooohhh

Oohhhhh Oooohhhh Oooohhh Oooohh Oooohhh

Oohhhhh, Oooohhhh

Hey liar,
I sing it to you too
As for why Nobody Knows what Blooms is awesome, it's hardly the falsetto in the chorus. It's the variation and overall composition from a musical standpoint that impresses me. The falsetto is alright I guess, but the song meshes together so well, and it manages to sound new; at least in the context of sounds we've heard from the pillows.
It's almost like I'm hearing another song than you guys. Can you please explain some more Tidus. What variation do you mean? All, I hear is the bass loop, some newly added instruments, which just pop in and pop out. And Sawao's vocal range.
What about the overall composition? I hope you can aswer me, I'd like to like this song as much as you guys do.

Well, you partly answered the question yourself. The random instruments that popped in were part of that variation. If you didn't like it, that's too bad so sad, but I quite liked it. I really liked the progression of Sawao's vocal melody, and the little reprieve after the solo. The guitar tones were great, the bass was tight, and the lead play and interchange between the guitars was tasteful.

I didn't think the chorus was Hybrid Rainbow tier by any means, but it was the best on the album for me. And the harmonies the song were built on enhanced everything. It wasn't an overly generic harmonic progression.

I don't these words will convince you to love the song. But these are some of the reasons I enjoy it so much.

Where'd you find those? I'd be surprised if they were the actual lyrics. I'm sure he's saying dog rather than duck, at least.

Thanks for your quick and clear response. I'm glad there is nothing wrong with my ears, hehe.
I don't like it that much yet, but I can understand why you like it. It's a very refreshing song I guess.

However, if Nobody Knows what Blooms represents the new sound of the pillows on the album, Brilliant Crown is more like a classic pillows song. My preference goes for the latter at the moment.

also late to the game. Thanks a lot of the upload! This is certainly a step up from the last few releases (already been said multiple times but I suppose it's worth repeating!)

I might dig Give Me Up! too much. It's so much fun to play on the guitar! :shred:

Ok, this album is awesome. I've been giving it a couple of listens lately and I really enjoyed it.
I'm not gonna give a review on every track since I pretty much agree with what has been said already.

Some of my thoughts on some tracks:

Limp Tomorrow
This track was the biggest surprise for me. Before, I was certain it was going to be another half baked engrish song. But not only am I glad to be wrong but I also was not expecting it to be as good as it turned out to be.

Biography
It reminds me of 21 fingers - except not as crazy. It's sort of like a sober version but still great.

Nobody Knows What Blooms
Somebody made a comment about Beck  . I don't remember who it was but as soon as I heard this song I immediately thought of the new pollution:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBGSF6t2iRY (Odelay cover is interesting)

Then with all the little instrument plug ins and the slide guitar it just convinced me. Beck. 8)

Emerald City
That drum roll in the beginning made me think of white incarnation. Then it was all no substance from there. 8)

Overall, Horn Again is just rock solid. It's been awhile but there is probably nothing on the tracklist that makes me prone to skip.

THANKS KOSUMIKU!! :D

haha, yes idd, it sounds alike. Sheer said it already:
7. "Nobody Knows What Blooms." What. This is awesome. This is where it's at, Beck.
Off course, Limp Tomorrow <--> Hello Goodbye (The Beatles) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBZ8ulc5NTg

Using "Hello" and "goodbye" in tandem within a pop/rock song almost always evokes the Beatles' classic. It doesn't have to sound melodically similar.

Oh yeah... Duh! I was listening to the song without even paying attention to the vocals because it's mostly in Japanese. Haha, I always listen to the music first when it comes to the pillows.

Way too much hype for this album. Nobody Knows What Blooms is the only stand-out track. Limp Tomorrow and Movement come close. Sad Fad Love is actually a decent track, but the craptastic Engrish ruins it completely. The rest is the same old, tired stuff we've been getting on a constant basis since My Foot. Honestly, if you put any of the tracks in the context of Wake Up, Pied Piper or Ooparts, would you spot a difference? I know I wouldn't.

That's my five cents. Feel free to thrash me.
