Maybe the next single and the album will kick ass. You never know, the single doesnt always determine how the album will be.
Optimistic....
But yeah the sample is alright, it deffinately isn't anything to be excited about. But i kind of like it.

Just wait for the damn single. We've heard thirty seconds of the song in poor quality, taken out of context. In spite of all that, it sounds pretty good. So just wait until you hear it to condemn it or make love to it.

I agree completely Jomei
On another note, if some people were to go back to 1997 (not Jedi specifically) then maybe the sound of their pleadings for bygone days would dim, and those of us in 2005 would be free to enjoy the current music unmolested (or molested, both flavors are available).

In all honestly, I joke about the current pillows sound. I actually don't mind it at all. Nothing wrong with it, just like Kudos said. And I enjoy some songs off of Penalty Life. But what I mean by going back to 1997 is that even though I will keep on listening to the current stuff (Post TYMT), I will always stick to the classics and the golden age of the band. Sure, I would like to see them return to that energy, passion and sound from the golden age, but when you have all these FLCL Waps running around praising Penalty Life like if it was PML version 2, one person will not influence the pillows to change sounds. Espeically Sawao.
If I have any problem concerning how the band is today, it would have to be Sawao himself. I just think he is 4x more cocky than he was back in 1999. What with him trying to dress like American Indie-music hipster (as interpreted from the promotional pictures from Good Dreams) to the kinda lazy approach to new songs. Like I said before, I certainly don't mind their new sound/songs. But that's just me.

They have too much potential to waste it on the stuff they are doing.

Take me with you!!!!
but seriously...its too effecty...i dunno if you get what i mean. i still like 89-97 stuff better. hopefully one of them learns roman letters and reads this and talks it over with the rest of the band.
even with all that against it...i liked it, it was catchy enough.
