He's still in love with Sawao. He's just too cool to admit it.
I'm not though
I like Dizzy Life and Sleepy Dragon better than Bakuon Drop. I have to say, I really miss Manabe's lead guitar in these songs, though.
My two major complaints; the guitar is primitive ; it's a little too pop-ish, especially Bakuon Drop.
Good things... I hate to admit it, but I find Dizzy Life's chorus kind of catchy. Not Funny Bunny catchy by any means, but not too bad. I also like Sleepy Dragon's slightly darker tone.

*Pats Jomei on the back* I understand the Manabe sentiment but since it's not the pillows, he's not going to be there. *sniff*
I sincerely like The Predators. Like I said, I think the music is fun and could really care less about weather or not people think it has substance. It makes me bob my head up and down and that's good enough for me.
Oh and tell that skank Culen he better stay away from my OLD man Sawao 0r 3yem g0iNg 2 kiK hIm in t3h sAk!!!111

Um, um, um.....this whole Predators thing has been freakeh, but I hope it's settled down now. I'm definately prepared for the worst...
That said, I liked Culen's estimation of The Predators, but I think the only thing that came out of it that wasn't his own personal opinion(which I agree with, more or less) or needlessly cynical speculation was that the band lacks originalility, and even the objectivity of that is debatable. I find his concern for uniqueness really funny though in an ironic sense, considering his well-known distaste for Penalty Life, which is arguably the pillows most distinct album. Or it is at least in my insipid opinion.
I think I should probably right about now.

Penalty Life is not their most distinct album.

I think Culen is right. However, I see more to synchronized rockers (even though alot are pretty shitty covers) than he.

Touché. What I mean by "distinct" though is that it just sounds different from all their other albums; I don't mean that it's neccessarily better. In fact, it's not anywhere near my favorite. I just think at that point in time they were veering off into the "art" portion of their art/punk/pop/rock combination they had been cultivating since PML. In other words, it was like they started showing slightly less Beatles influence and a little more Pixies influence, or something like that. I also think that if they had continued down that path, they may have been able to mature that sound into a more musically palatable album.

Certain cajun people don't allow opinions on this thread.
Do you realize that you are the only one who is still complaining about that? The debate that is going on in this thread has nothing to do with the fact that I was trying to keep this topic on track several weeks ago. Stop whining already. If you still want to cry and complain about it PM me instead of filling this thread with your sorrow.
Whoa there! I wasn't talking about my post.
Anyway, the main purpose of resurrecting this thread is, of course, to post news about THE PREDATORS. I would like this topic to stick around this time, so if you're going to criticize the band only constructive criticism will be accepted, otherwise your post will be considered trolling and I will delete it. Well, that's one way of looking at it, I guess. I think Please Mr. Lostman is their most distinct album. They had been on that pseudo-jazz theme from Kool Spice to Living Field, then, out of nowhere comes PML, which, to my ears, sounds like nothing else they've put out.

Yep. That's why I said "arguably."
More on topic, after listening to The Predators songs last night, I must say they've actually grown a little on me. I still don't think much of them, though.

They're not hate-able. but not likeable either. it's kinda like Penalty Life: you like one song, but you won't pursue into the album any further.

I feel the same way. Sleepy Dragon especially. I can say I actually like that one. I'm already tired of the other two, though.
