Is there any chance for west coast shows or is everything set in stone already?
I know basically every post I've made has to do with The Stereo Future and Seattle, but what the hell. I'm 95% sure that the pillows will be touring with The Stereo Future (from Seattle), so there's a very good chance that they'll be up in the Pacific Northwest. Seattle.
Plus, a few IMers and I talked to Nick from TSF at the noodles show about a US tour in-planning, so...he'd be a dirty bastard to let us down.
Both the pillows/noodles US tour and the Stereo Future/noodles US tour both played in the Crocodile Cafe, Seattle. That's where my homepage is set, so I'll let everyone know if they update with the pillows. Though I sure as hell hope it's NOT at the Crocodile Cafe. BDMonster and I have some bad memories there. Goddamn fascist staff.

I also wrote to Nick about touring in Boston back when they were planning for last February's shows; and they said they were going to plan on it in the summer. June's in the summer.

Oh that's so suck if it was really in the MIDDLE of summer. The Knitting Factory dates -the 26th and 27th?- I'm hoping that those dates are either near the end or middle of their tour. I'm gonna be going to Japan in July...and...if I were in Japan while the pillows were in my fucking home town...well. I'd die. I personally believe that my body is engineered to stop functioning when I miss my favorite band in the entire world playing where I live.
Oh god. They'd better get some tour dates up FAST.

I know they are trying to book at least one show after the NY shows but that's all I know.
Hey, that rhymed.
Once I have this show CONFIRMED I will let you you guys know. Until then don't ask because it would be pointless for me to tell you about it if this gig falls through. I don't want to get anyone's hopes up.

Some of us in the middle of the country would also like some shows, instead of the people complaining about the shows being so far away as the state right next to theirs.

Yeah, me and a bunch of my friends sent emails to Chie and told them to try the Avalon when the pillows first considered touring in the US.
I hope they actually do. My parents are rather hesitant to let me go down to New York. They're making me get a C or higher in every class (which I only have a problem in Theology and Math getting a C)...

I wish you guys wouldn't do that. She barely speaks English and does not really have a say in anything the pillows do anyway. All she can do is serve as a middle man and give them a message so to speak and considering the fact that she doesn't speak English very well and the pillows don't really speak any at all, AND she get's messages like this all the time, all it does is clutter up her inbox with shit she can barely understand and has absolutely no control over anyway. You guys have to understand, it's pretty f&**ing difficult to get venues in the US that are willing to book Japanese bands they have never heard of, it's a risk to them and a pain in the ass to get accomplished.
It's one thing to suggest a venue, it's another entirely if you have an entourage of people filling her inbox with "Please play here!" It's up to the venues, not the band.

But that's not to say that it doesn't hurt to try. I, too, sent info to Chie about the Avalon (and also Axis, Paradise, Harper's Ferry, and T.T. the Bear's). I think it would make Sawao happy to see that many people want them to play in their city.

Sawao doesn't get these messages and even if he did, he has no control over weather or not said venue is willing to book the band. Like I said, it's one thing to suggest a venue, that's fine but it's another to bombard them with messages saying "Please play here." If you're going to do that, contact the venue first and see if they are willing to book the band because if they aren't, they could have 100 people asking them to play "Club X". If "Club X" isn't willing to book them, what good does it do? All it does is frustrate the band and the people who are trying to book them if the clubs say no and trust me when I say, some of them do just that.

Then I say we send an email with a bunch of peoples names to let these venues know we want the pillows.

That's not really going to work either because it has to be a joint effort between the band, management and venue. It wouldn't hurt I guess but if you email a venue in Columbus for example and the pillows have no intention on going to Columbus, because of time constrants or what ever, then that won't do any good either.
Like I said, it's not a bad idea to suggest a venue to the band that you think would be interested, appropriate, (for example, I wouldn't reccomend Madison Square Garden) not way out on the middle of Kansas, ect... It also wouldn't be a bad idea to send said venue a CD of the bands music to see if they are interested. Keep in mind though that a lot of these venue booking agents won't even talk to you or take your suggestion seriously if you aren't some sort of booking agent for the band, concert promotor or have some sort of direct ties to the band themselves. Venues get tapes and requests from local musicians all the time and they won't book anyone unless they feel like they can make a few bucks.
