Re: [2007.11.14] LOSTMAN GO TO YESTERDAY

ACTUALLY...
programs like imgburn (its free!) can detect, decode, and burn those vob's no problem!
I'm pretty sure.
I'm on OSX so my options are rather limited. I'm doing a lossless compression to mp4 right now that has been running for 20 hours and has 10 to go, so hopefully that will come out stellar. The VOB files are about 5.6GBs together, and I'm not really sure where I could host them or give you guys the files. Any recommendations would be great.
Torrent..?

Wait, nvm, I think I have vobs. I'll try and convert them later.

Re: [2007.11.14] LOSTMAN GO TO YESTERDAY
When the conversion finishes, I'll do a comparison picture to show you the difference in quality between the original dvd and the MP4. It's honestly not worth the trouble to put the video through any more conversions or worry about the ISOs because the difference in quality will be extremely negligible. Infact, the DVD is being deinterlaced in the conversion, so it should run smoother. All you're essentially missing from the file is the menu, which really doesn't seem like too big of a deal. Each PV has a chapter mark as well, so you won't have to scroll through the video to find what your are looking for. The MP4 file should play fine running off the PS3 if transferred onto it's hard drive without any DVD necessary.I'm 90% sure that it supports the format ( I don't have a PS3 so I can't check). I can send the VOBs directly through AIM to someone, but it would probably take and incredibly long to transfe. If you are interested in the VOBs pm me and I'll give you my sn. Comparison Picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/36504513@N ... 9/sizes/l/VOB on left, mp4 on right. Download the full sized version if you want to see more indepth. I expanded the size of the videos so comparisons could be more indepth. I'm uploading the file to Sharebee now. It Clocks in at 2.27 Gigabytes so it's pretty hefty, but as you can see in the comparison picture, looks much better.

Re: [2007.11.14] LOSTMAN GO TO YESTERDAY
Damn...I didnt know decoding would take so long. I'm not sure if its an osx thing, im going to have to look up some benchmarks. it could also be your graphics card. graphics processing is also important when decoding, depending on your card. any single gpu can only decode so many flops.
as for uploading, you could make it into separate rar's and have us download them from megaupload or you could torrent them.
as for the decoding, I was surprised that the mp4 was on the right. really good work!!
keep us updated.

Re: [2007.11.14] LOSTMAN GO TO YESTERDAY
Actually the VOB is on the right, I didn't look at the picture when I posted eit. Yeah right now I'm breaking it up into .rar files which I will upload later. It's not necessarily the encoding time, my computer fell asleep in the middle of it I think and that's what caused the longness. Unfortunately I'm going to have an extremely busy night tonight so the actual files will probably be up tomorrow morning.

Re: [2007.11.14] LOSTMAN GO TO YESTERDAY
the direct m4v file is giving me a lot of trouble...
on the ps3, its not really upscaling, nor is it allowing me to change chapters
Ive been trying to find software's that can burn m4v to dvd...but have hit walls (ive tried SUPER and DVD Santa)
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: [2007.11.14] LOSTMAN GO TO YESTERDAY
just a quick note to all the people who downloaded this music video dvd.
IF you are watching it on your computer, the best player to use is VLC. its free, just google it and download.
the great thing about vlc is the fact that you can fast forward to different chapters with ease, and secondly, you can set the aspect ratio!!!!!
right now im watching it on my 15.4 inch laptop, and since most of these videos were made with standard cameras, they are in standard 4:3 aspect ratio. with VLC i set the aspect ratio to 16:10, and when on full screen, it fills up the entire screen with no annoying black borders!
use vlc, its great.

Re: [2007.11.14] LOSTMAN GO TO YESTERDAY
Haha, I'm almost considering downloading those. I have the box set, DVD included (love that thing, such a nice, quality product. Too bad they couldn't sneak Lorelai and those few extra B-sides in there, though...), but I'm too lazy to hack any of my players to be region free, haha.

Same goes for downloading into my mp3 player.
