Re: About Living Field...
However, if you're saying that Living Field inspired you to play light blues, then that's cool—ignore what I just said.
Yea that's what I was trying to say, with the way I worded it it kind of looks like I was implying those songs I listed we're light blues, but I was just listing my favourite tracks off the album. Living Field was what got me looking into the genre of light blues & jazz, primarily when I started learning Daydream Wonder. I listen to alot of music, but it wasent untill I started listning to alot of The Pillows' earlier works like Kool Spice and Living Field that I started playing more Jazz. White Incarnation was more alternative rock, but a couple songs like Tonight or Bokura no Halley Suisei(Our Halley's Comet) I would put in the same category.

Re: About Living Field...
^Actually imo White Incarnation has a touch of dream pop to be more precise (ex: paper moon ni koshikakete, kono mama koko de, bokura no harre suisei, and lorelai (seeing as it was a b-side for kanojo wa shisuta)) rather than say straight-up alternative rock.

It fails for having the introduction from the Special CD hacked off, and I'm not really a big fan of the added instrumentation.

Re: About Living Field...
I completely disagree. I love the album version. Quite possibly my favorite song on the album. The intro on the Special CD didn't do much for me. It's all right, but it's not necessary.

Re: About Living Field...
Both are great. I know I'm in the minority on this, but on this album, I think Climbing on the Roof is the only song I don't really really like. The rest of the album is perfect, though.

Re: About Living Field...
I dunno, I'd argue that Native World feels a bit out of place in LF and the slower tempo throws off the pace of the album for me. It's a great song on its own but its postion in the track order just doesn't work out. Happy Slave transitioning into Climbing On The Roof works out much better than Happy Slave transitioning into Native World imo.

Re: About Living Field...
Yea, Native World always felt like a clunker to me. I pretty much agree with the above statement. But as far as transitioning goes, the end of the album with Climbing on the Roof to Bye Bye Sweet Pain is great. It's a perfect way to close the album and once I hear Climbing on the Roof, be it on shuffle or whatnot, I can't help but want to hear Bye Bye Sweet Pain next.

Re: About Living Field...
Native World is pretty cool, especially after coming from the crazed ending to Happy Slave. Swinger's Night Club doesn't seem to offer much for me as an instrumental. It seems underwhelming to just plop it in there at a little more than two minutes to be some little instrumental vignette for showing off the lead guitarist. Imagine what they could have done with that idea had they given it a more rock punch and incorporated lyrics into it! As it stands that song is kind of just there. It lacks impetus torwards the flow of the album, especially how it follows Daydream Wonder, which brought up the pace from the first two songs. It stomps on the brakes as if to say "Hold up! Instrumental time...". I tend to skip it.
