I think having a giant Busterkun would be fucking awesome.[/quote]
Yes on the first, and yes a busterkun would be awesome, but I meant cd's and dvd's. I forsee people wanting those before they indulge in GIGANTIC BUSTERKUNS!
Wow Mare, you would put that many cd's in front? I guess it makes sense with getting into the band before buying the lives. What was so good about the wux3 for you?
And is your placement of Penalty Life on there part of your scheme to get everyone into Moon Marguerite? Evil evil man.
I figured that this thread would be something that Golden would respond to without another "not another ranking thread.. so bored of these.." but I dont remember seeing something like this posted over the months i've been reading IM.

 Re: Top 10 Loot List
Oh damn, brain fart there, I forgot all about LGTY there. Fixed my post.
They Wake up! tour DVD has a great setlist and really cool camera work. I dig it.
As for Penalty Life, it gets tons of shit, but can anybody honestly say that songs like I Know You aren't a big part of why they got into the pillows?

 Re: Top 10 Loot List
Hmm.. I dont know if I can say that Penalty Life had a big role in why I got into the pillows. I was mostly listening to other albums before I hit PL. It did add to the mix, and there are a number of great tracks on there I must agree. Maybe it's just me, but PL isn't the end all, and it also certainly doesnt deserve the shit it gets sometime.

I was under the impression that most of us were into the pillows before Penalty Life was even released, or at least just around the same time.

 Re: Top 10 Loot List
Hence why Penalty Life is a bit of a landmark album for American pillows fans. For most people, it was the first NEW RELEASE! by the pillows since they heard of them, and I'm sure a lot of fans heard Penalty Life in full way before they even knew wtf Please Mr. Lostman was.

I don't know, "Stalker," "Strange Chameleon," and "Swanky Street" were some of the first pillows songs I've heard. Of course, back then, before torrents caught on, the method of finding music was typing "the pillows" into a program like LimeWire or Kazaa and downloading them individually. As such, I don't think albums held much meaning to most of us as we were just getting into the band.

This is true.
For me, I got into the pillows around the time My Foot was released (2006), but I also started by downloading random songs. At first I got all the FLCL songs from Gendo's, (which had extra non-FLCL songs like Skeleton Liar). Immediately after that, however, I got My Foot. Then Wake Up! Wake Up! Wake Up! For the longest time, that's all I had.
Then I did a discography download... around mid-2007. I neglected to listen to the Penalty Life for real until 2008-ish... So yeah, I think the last albums I got to were Penalty Life and Good Dreams, in terms of listening to the albums as cohesive wholes.
However, it is apparent that a lot of the fans who got into the FLCL in 2002/2003 bought the American release of Penalty Life by Geneon.

I bought the last copy at a local f.y.e store. I remembered that they never came in with any new shipments since. Especially with My Foot. I was so stressed out about that. Finding music or news about them now is alot easier than it was before. People who are getting into them now are so lucky.

Spot on Sheer. Penalty Life was what partially got me into the pillows even more as well, so you guys aren't alone. After hearing the first two FLCL soundtracks, I did a search on Limewire and some of the first songs that came up were Terminal Heaven's Rock, I Know You, Freebee Honey, and Phantom Pain, along with other random songs like Curly Rudy, Girlfriend, Skim Heaven, and Happy Bivouac. This is probably why Freebee Honey and Curly Rudy are still in my top 10 favorite the pillows songs of all time.

 Re: Top 10 Loot List
My first pillows experience was just a random mix of pillows songs my best friend burned for me. I don't remember all the tracks anymore, but some tracks that stand out in my mind are Dead Stock, Carnival, I Know You, Happy Bivouac, Kanojo wa Kyou, FOTP, Hybrid Rainbow, Little Busters, Funny Bunny, Crazy Sunshine. So many amazing songs.

 Re: Top 10 Loot List
I too had my first experience with a random mixture of songs from limewire, and from a friend of mine's cousin who had a few songs like hybrid rainbow, etc. Back in the day I thought hybrid rainbow was weird, and now I see it as one of their iconic songs. Most of us that started listening to the pillows and could be considered vets started around or before the PL times. Those that are now starting to get into them due to their rise in popularity due to avex's ability to "get them out there" won't see as much significance in PL as we would. Mare you did have a great point though.
Back on topic though. Does anyone have a list other than Mare?

Kim Deal was the first pillows song I couldn't stop listening to.
