That'd be damned cool. If I can't find anything, I'll probably end up doing Rhythm myself as well, and finding a singer that doesn't like the pillows that much. Maybe even pay him. Or do the vocals on the guitar, but then, I really like the lyrics to I think I can.

I'm creating a new arrangement of Beautiful Morning with You with new instruments; how stupid would it be to post here for opinions before entering it in the contest officially? In other words, how competitive are you guys about this thing?

The depth of the competition is a good thing, it will only serve to heighten our polish when all is said and done. Whoever wins here is going to take our tribute CD to the pillows with a smile on his/her face.

Yesterday, I told my sister I would kill her if it meant I could win this contest. I don't think I would, but sometimes - when I'm practicing for it - it feels that way. I don't know what the pillows are looking for, but I'm going to take my cover in a unique direction. I want to do an instrumental, and really bring out the compositional genius Sawao has shown in his songwriting (Manabe too, in his lead lines/solos). With the piano and and violin, I sense a great power, especially for songs like All the Way to the Edge of This World. I've written down the arrangement for piano and violin, so it seems I might be set.

Still, I'm not uploading my video until late July. I'm sure others have thought of it, but I wanna see what other people are doing before I put down, y'know? I sure someone of the more eager, reckless people (from IM, Japan, Mole Town, or wherever) will blow their chances by rushing into the competition and submitting a less than award-winning product. I'm not saying "pick up pointers from those who failed before you", but I think that's a good option we'll all have.

I really want someone from IM to take home the gold. They need to see the sentiment that we as hardcore pillows fans have. Really now, if anyone in the US is going to win this thing, it will practically [i]have[/i] to be someone from IM. As far as I know, the musicians here are the most talented pillows fans out there - we're the only ones who'd be interested in this thing anyways.

No, I'm recording with a violinist. She's this Korean girl, but her English is solid. She's been living here for a while. She's a hardcore violinist just as much as I am a pianist. We're working on a Beethoven Sonata for Piano and Violin together, so I plan on making this a little side project (compared to the Beethoven, Kono yo no Hate Made is... well, [i]child's play[/i]). We won't actually began meeting until July, so for now I'm working on optimizing the arrangement.

I recall correctly, the deadline is August 1st.

Seriously though, when I think about it, this may be the only chance I ever actually have to see the pillows live again. I saw em in Osaka last year, but seriously. Once school starts up, I'ma be a senior and stuff is gonna get hardcore (college prep, etc...). I'm sure it's the similar for all of us; seeing the pillows at this concert, and knowing what it represents and what it means to the pillows themselves. It's their 20th anniversary and they're more popular than ever! They're giving us a chance (even if it is a small one - small as hell at that), they're giving us a chance to be a part of this thing. A real chance. We gotta take this chance.
