I'm impressed. Definately a must see.

Also, to be honest. I want a 20th anniversary album to sound like the Little Busters album. Even though it isn't my favorite pillows album (it's my second favorite) I think it's the one album that truly brings out the pillows' style.

Late Bloomers should be great, but...check the vocals again. Do you really think Sawao's loud, shouty, warbly rock voice works for such nice acoustic covers? Tone it down, man!

^Yeah, I hope the vocals are better than what I heard in One Life.

Anyways, the theremin was cool.

Are you guys serious? One Life would be nothing without the emotionally wrought shouting. Even on acoustic.

Ugh. No. Check out the recording of One Life from Little Busters. The music is sweet and gentle (despite the overdrive), so Sawao's voice complements it by being sweet too. There is nothing hardcore or shouty or distraught about One Life.

It's the difference between: "Oh yeah!!!~" (Good One Life)
and "AWHH YEAOHRHHA" (Bad One Life).

The first few lines from the 916 performance of Patricia are what I'm talking about.
Singers should be able to project without making their voices sound really weird.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKatXFh_ccM
"Kushakusha no atama..."
not "KUSHAKUSHA NO ATAWMAHHR"

I'm not saying the One Life bit was horrible...Sawao just needs to work on his live voice more. And no, don't blame it on his age. If your voice can't do what it used to, then tone it down. Also, if you don't have fucking loud/distorted guitars behind you, it makes a bit weirder to be all loud and warbly while you sing. This is how you do a live set: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_t ... +unplugged

Sawo should know that.

Yeah, if this was 1998. Sawao's voice is pretty bad right NOW. Did you happen to see the rsr video where Sawao was singing Patricia acoustic by himself?
I think that he shouldn't scream as much, its ok, but not as much as that.

Are you kidding me? That acoustic performance was BEAUTIFUL. That's what it should sound like. I agree with what GR said, his voice needs to match the kind of music he's playing. If there's anything wrong with that performance, it's his hair and the gigantic glasses making him look like an old man. This new DVD will be full of great performances like that, I'm hoping.

In recent years, I've actually liked Sawao's voice better when he sings softly. It holds up better and sounds better too. And Sawao's voice has never been spectacular, technically speaking. We've had this conversation before, about his vocals. It's just a part of what makes the pillows' signature sound. While he may not be able to sing as well for a long time like he used to, he certainly still has his voice. Heck, I would even go on to say that the new loud, intense singing style he uses live now could be responsible for why he can't keep his voice sounding good for a long time during shows.

The Scar Whispers...is on there. Wow. I'm impressed. I really wonder what that's going to sound like.

I'm also surprised at the amount of covers they've got going on in that setlist. But...

PLASTIC FLOWER!
