I'll get back to you come may. (Ick. I have to go to an anime con?)

Mister Oberst tries way too hard. Sometimes he gets it right, though.
I totally agree. The sets were way too short because of the number of bands. That, and at both shows that I went to all they played were FLCL songs - which are great - but I would have loved to hear some album stuff. But hey, that is because most of the people there had only heard the FLCL disks or what they downloaded.

That is why I will answer best show ever when I see them in Japan. One day...
i think it also had to do with them already thinking that flcl stuff was all we'd heard- because flcl is how we non-japanese found out about them.

they did play a couple songs from penalty life and good dreams at sxsw. personally i'm happy because we would not otherwise get the opportunity to hear those older songs live. i doubt they play many old songs at their japanese shows, with the exception of the anniversary shows and a few of the more popular 'classics'- i've seen hybrid rainbow on semi-recent set lists.

If I get to hear something off TYMT (or better yet, get them to play said song by screaming loud enough), I'll be pleased.

THey probably played mostly FLCL stuff because as of now, those are the only Pillows discs with a domestic release. As such, the FLCL OSTs are what The Pillows are currently "promoting" here, even though they are 4 or 5 years old.

That's true. They would be promoting the FLCL cd's... especially with a third coming out.

I wish they would release SMILE and TYMT on an American label (Asian Man Records - Polysics, Potshot / Matador Records - Pizzicato Five, Guitar Wolf). It would be a start!

In fact, King Records should agree to sell the rights for an American release of all of their back catalog. Won't happen... but it would be nice.

I think Sony Records could promote the Pillows quite well; and maybe even Warner Bros.; which owns Cartoon Network that broadcasts Adult Swim which played FLCL that featured the Pillows on their soundtrack(CHRIST! WHAT A MOUTHFUL!!!).

2 Weeks gone by; and I'm still happy to be one degree of separation to Sawao Yamanaka.

Yay!! I'm rich at all the right times!!

....but still too young to go this time. Like Mare-kun says, if they come back (they should!!) I'll be ready. Maybe I'll be generous enough to buy him a ticket out of this old town. That is.... if he can convince the bakajin to let him go.

after all Mare-kun... you must admit that they think the pillows are the devil.

BLASPHEMY!! THEY SHOULD HAVE DIED THE WORST DEATH THE DAY THE PILLOWS CAME INTO OUR LIVES!!
