I do believe manabe smokes weed. nine miles definitely seems to support that idea. have you seen the pv for in a silent way? he also had a huge weed sticker on his switching pedal and smaller ones on a couple others in the hybrid rainbow instructional video. the rest of them seem like beer drinkers.

Those who don't understand marijuana have obviously never smoked it. That's why I have a problem when people say that it's a highly addictive substance. I have gone for months at a time without smoking, It's not like I [i]have[/i] to get high in the morning. I don't go out and spend all my money on drugs cause I'm addicted and ruled by them.

They'll tell you statistics like, "The average joint contains 3 times as much tar as a cigarette," but the thing is, people don't smoke joints like they smoke cigs. A person can go through a pack of 20 cigs in a day, whereas most pot smokers are generally satisfied off of one joint for at least 2-3 hours. People who are against it seem to just work around facts like that. Now, obviously, weed [i]will[/i] harm your lungs. Any time smoke is inhaled it's gonna do damage.

Not to [i]bash[/i] on people who choose not to smoke it, it's obviously your choice and an admirable decision. It's just like preferring organic food as opposed to processed food with preservatives. I think people just need to realize that weed really isn't that bad of a substance, and is actually far safer than alcohol, or even a lot prescription drugs, for that matter.

But at least marijuana has THC...which gives it a psychoactive effect. People say they can get a "buzz" from cigarettes, but you can't get high from a cigarette. With weed one can, allegedly, experience music in a new way. I've never smoked before, but hey - that sounds cool to me. And a hell of a lot safer than doing Ecstasy.

They call it a recreational drug because the effect on the mind can be pretty significant. In an enjoyable way. Cigarettes on the other hand are just addictive, have added nasty chemicals, and have no real effect...well. I guess if you're addicted to them, having one can calm you down. But still, you don't get the trippy effects of being high. That's why I'd say weed is [u]not retarded[/u].

Yeah, and as for pot smokers being sated for just 2-3 hours after smoking...that seems a little ridiculous. I can't point to any survey, but I don't think your average person who smokes weed smokes weed daily. It's not really the same sort of activity as cigarette smoking in that way. Maybe once a week. Some more, some a lot less. But the phrase "generally satisfied off of one joint for at least 2-3 hours" makes it seem like pot smokers need to "get their fix" just as often as a cigarette smoker does. I don't think that's true. There isn't really a "fix" in pot smoking, as there's no addictive property to it. Chemically.

Pot is a gateway drug. No, it's not as bad for you as alcohol and cigarettes, but after a while you won't get the same high out of it, or you won't be satisfied, and that's where you dig deeper to other drugs.

A LOT of potheads do no drugs other than pot.
In fact, every pothead I know stays far, far away from stuff like heroin and meth. I even know a couple who refuse to smoke cigarettes or drink.

Common misconception- all potheads are morons. They're not. They know hard drugs are terrible things, just like everyone else. If they choose to use them, it's their own fault, weed has nothing to do with that decision, in my mind.

As far as that joint thing goes, I was just saying, a pot smoker can stay high off a joint for 2-3 hours. That doesn't mean they'll come back to get their "fix" or whatever, unlike a cigarette smoker who [i]needs[/i] a cig every hour or so. A heavily addicted smoker (my ex girlfriend, for example) can go through five or six cigarettes in a two hour period (which is why a broke up with her, cigs are nasty, IMO).

Fun Fact: Marijuana is not a gateway drug. The mere existence of "gateway drugs" is thus far tenuous. The study (or studies) that suggested marijuana is a gateway drug prompted the government's "War on Drugs" to focus on marijuana, rather than dangerous drugs. The gateway drug theory has long since been disproved, or at least "proven to not have been proven."
