This album is definitely going to mark a start of a new time period for the pillows, and their fourth style. I'm REALLY digging the stuff they've presented to us so far, and can't wait to get the album, and better yet, to hear it live this July.
Agreed. The Pillows have had cool introductions recently... New Animal and Pied Piper have really cool openings. I'ma be in Japan next month, so I hope we can catch a show together, Mare.

Maybe. I've got a ticket lined up for the show on the 18th of July. Let me know if you get ahold of one, we'll meet up and see them together.

Re: Pied Piper PV
Too short for me. With an intro like that, the song should have been around 4 mins. Still I like how this was done before New Animal so I wouldn't have to see that hair again.

Re: Pied Piper PV
Damn, that was awesome. After listening to all these awesome new pillows songs I'm going to be either extremely delighted or extremely let down by the other songs on the album.

I lol'd.
And yeah, it would've been cool if it was a bit longer... but then again, we're talking about an album opener. You don't want it to be too long unless it's a masterpiece, like My Foot was. I think it gets the job done. I wish I knew Japanese though... I think I'd like these newer songs more if I could understand the lyrics. Thanks for the translations, Mare, they helped with New Animal and Finger-post of Magic.
pied piper n. 1. A person who offers others strong yet delusive enticements. 2. One, such as a leader, who makes irresponsible promises. [After The Pied Piper of Hamelin, title and hero of a poem by Robert Browning.]

1. pied piper - a leader who entices people to follow (especially to their doom)
I guess the puppet in the video.. makes.. a bit of sense?

Re: Pied Piper PV
I don't know, I was thinking that the song would sound different, at least from what the intro sounded like.
It just completely changed after the intro. I'm not saying its bad, Manabe's guitar work on this reminds me a bit of Voice. Sawao's voice and vocal melody is good in the first few verses even if it sounds a little too ehh, "cute" for the lack of a better word.

Re: Pied Piper PV
I'm kind of disappointed, the intro got my hopes up and the song seems unmemorable and kind of boring. The video however, is awesome. I think Sawao really likes having puppets in the PVs.
1. The doll in Strange Chameleon 2. the clown in Nonfiction 3. the doll in ladybird girl 4. the scarecrow in scarecrow

Yes. The intro was cool. The song was alright. But why the hell did Sawao combine them? The intro doesn't really lead into the song, or any following melody. It's just like "Here's this neat, slow thing we wrote...now listen to Pied Piper."
It's cool Sawao is every so slightly branching out from his typical song construction by including a somewhat strange intro...but seriously. It's just not cohesive.

Ahahaha, yeah, I agree. As for the Pied Piper part, I kind've like it, especially at 1:31 how the lyrics follow along with the rhythm of the drums.

I have to agree. The video was fucking rad on all levels, but the song was umm... a little disappointing. I dig the shit out of the intro though, but it shouldn't be attached to that song.

Re: Pied Piper PV
Not a new My Foot, but a cool stong still. Gotta say that New Animal fits very well after this one.
edit: Maybe the intro thingy is an intro for the whole album? Like in Wake Up! x3 there was the weird sound that started and finished the album.
