Post Re: The Scar Whispers, NO ONE is in PARADISE
All my friends used to be really huge into them together. back in 05 we were in full swing. Then interest sorta waned in everyone but myself. One of my friends gets angry whenever I talk about them now, another just likes them because but doesnt seem to care much, and another likes them but doesnt go out of his way to find stuff out about them.

It's ironic because I've done the most growing of all of us all while still listening to a band I was listening too in highschool. :groovin: The music they listen to is more wide and varied, but mine is far more fleshed out, even if I dont have as many bands on my ipod. You can definitly see what kind of person I am through them.

I love to go to their concerts so I can finally meet other fans. but most of the time I feel like they're just playing music for me. I dont believe it, but thats what it feels like, and I like that feeling.

I feel the same way, but the way Sawao writes his songs, both musically and lyrically, it feels like it's a song about how I feel, almost as if I Sawao and I are the same person.

Or rather he says and sings the things that go unsaid by us or that we can't say. It's not everyday you can string together phrases like "my song is your song" and "life, life is beautiful/she, she is wonderful" and find the courage to say these things earnestly and with the feeling like he does when he sings them.

Well that's something I noticed also, emotion has to be real to be accepted seriously, and Sawao sings it with such emotion. That is why he pulls it off so well.

The Shiroi Natsu live has the most epic ending of any live I've seen.

I still haven't told my parents I like Japanese music. I feel embarrassed to tell them, because they complain about alot of silly things. However, I got a few friends to like the pillows :D

i was listening to Moon Gold today while i was driving to an old broken down castle(i live in germany) and...well damn,

i'd have to say that anybody who is a true pillows fan, has got to have a really good taste in music...honestly...

and to be honest.....my friend who likes them has Great taste in music....

Post Re: The Scar Whispers, NO ONE is in PARADISE
It's kind of spread out for me. My mom kind of likes them a little bit since I'd play them in the car a lot, especially when my family went to South Dakota 2 years back. She likes Patricia best she says, and I think she like the single version better. My dad just doesn't like rock period, so yea. My brothers are meh on them, but most of my friends are morons about it.

When me and a few of them would hang out I used to put my Ipod on shuffle and whatever came up, came up. They obviously didn't like too many pillows' songs saying it was "gay" and "you can't even understand what they're saying". I try and tell them music is a universal language and it doesn't matter what language they sing in, but they laugh it off and say it's shit. But then, this comes from people who think that overall, the only good song on any album is the single.

But I do have a couple friends that I haven't hung out with as much lately due to school, that really like the pillows, one even onsiders them to be in his top 10 favorite bands of all time. They're nowhere as near as hardcore into them as I am, but they appreciate a lot of their songs, FLCL and non-FLCL tracks alike.

I was fortunate enough in high school to have a group of friends who not only enjoyed Japanese music, but were also pillows fans as well. When it came to the pillows though, I was the only die-hard fan. I credit one of these for expanding my interest in the Japanese music scene though, because they introduced me to tons of bands, like Bump of Chicken, High and Mighty Color, AKFG, and more.

I also have gotten a few people started on the pillows, too. In my experience, people still seem to agree the most on the FLCL stuff, even if they haven't seen FLCL. Kind of interesting how that works out.

Well, i introduced pillows to my small group of friends and my girlfriend, even though they're not die-hard fans, we can talk about the songs they've listened to, i wish i knew a real hardcore fan that can discuss about moon gold or Living Field
