Again, it was two and a half years ago, during a sound check. IIRC, Nick mentioned something about being in this group called "East Meets West" or something like that. I don't have enough information to give you a thorough explanation, but they didn't just magically become bffs with the pillows for no reason.

Anyway, we can continue discussing how awesome this will be.
I'm going to be honest, and say that you're slowly losing credibility, but anyway, it's still cool that the pillows will be playing. So good thread anyway.

Basically, the Stereo Future were fans of the pillows like the rest of us, but just happened to be a band in Seattle that helped push to get them a show there. Seriously, Benten and SXSW were the two things that got the pillows here in the first place, and I'm pretty sure that if it weren't for the Stereo Future helping push the pillows just a bit for a larger tour, they would have done what many of the Japanese bands did and just limited their tour to "Japan Nite" in Austin. Fans pushing for shows for the rest of us fans; fuck yes.

edit! I typo'd. Looking like March 18th at The Showbox, not the 28th. Still not official (haven't seen it on the website yet), but let's get that info clear first.

Sorta news, sorta not.

Got a new Stereo Future e-mailer update today:
::stuff about their upcoming February 21+ show at the Showbox...::
::stuff about the new music they've been writing...::
::then...::
Finally, in my last post I alluded to some potentially exciting news about an event in mid-to-late March involving our Japanese friends. We had hoped to have some more concrete news by this point, but unfortunately we've had a couple of logistical snags. We still hope to have some good news to report in the next week or so. I'll get the word out as soon as the details been confirmed.
Therefore, I will get the word out as soon as the details have been confirmed.
Hooray!

I'd really like to see one more stop for the pillows on this tour, and I'm pretty sure the Stereo Future are doing everything in their power to make sure this show happens, since it'll be their last chance to play with the pillows.

I wish I could make it to that show. I'm really bummed I'll never get to see TSF live.
