Intentional shipping costs isn't the problem. The problem is most Japanese people just won't ship over seas. There is no reason, they just won't. I've had this problem with every person on Amazon jp that doesn't ship internationally, they just don't want to ship overseas.

No, Amazon Japan's policies DOES NOT ALLOW USED TO SHIP OVERSEAS. Maybe you should read things better.

Um, I've bought plenty off of Amazon Japan and it's been shipped straight to me without trouble.

I'd assume you were wanting something kind of rare, which would tend to be used, and Amazon Japan just does not shipped used internationally. I've never, ever had a problem with new items and the seller refusing to ship internationally on Amazon Japan.

Well then apparently you got lucky. I've had all kinds of problems with sellers not shipping over seas for new items on amazon jp.

Don't assume shit.

Meh. I've never seen nor heard of that issue from anybody else, only with used items.

In any case, I don't see how you can assume that every single Japanese person randomly decided that they wouldn't ship internationally; there's just no way that would have happened. I'm more than pretty damn sure that there'll be plenty of sellers willing to ship internationally now that the option will be open.

Well, people are allowed to sell used items over-seas on Amazon JP. I got No Self Control for $6.00 on Marketplace.

Wierd, I must have had the most crazy luck then.

I've seriously thought they just weren't allowed to because I have never been able to get ANYTHING I wanted used on Amazon Jp, but I've been able to buy it new if it was available every single time. And it still doesn't make sense to me that every single person in Japan would just randomly decide to not sell their used stuff internationally.

EDIT: Looking through several items on Amazon Japan, I guess you're right. While almost every single used item seller only ships inside Japan, some ship internationally, and there seems to be a few new items that DON'T ship internationally, though as a rule they do. I've just always assumed that it was "used doesn't go international; new does" due to my experiences with the site. I'm sorry.

Their policy is that there not supposed to ship stuff, like toys and large objects overseas. Only books, DVDs, games and music albums.

i'm pretty sure this change will have an effect on at least some of the sellers though when this actually starts to catch on. It enables them to sell off their goods easier and also get more money with more buyers going for their items. So it's only logical to expect a huge increase in sellers shipping internationally in Japan because of this.
Whoa. OK, so let me get this all straight:

1. Rinkya is now obsolete.
2. Come March, we in the US will be able to buy items directly from Japanese sellers on Ebay, without a middleman.

Am I correct?
REALLY?! cool.
