Of course, it won't make them turn into a shitty band. But I'm not sure who asked who to write a song/participate. Could've been avex ordering them to do it.

And keep in mind that PUFFY/Puffy AmiYumi isn't complete shit either.
They know how to write a decent song, and among all of the crap that's filling the Japanese Pop scene*, I'd say they're at least above average.
*but then again, what the hell do I know about the Japanese pop scene?
For the record, I have about 7 songs by them, and I like them well enough.

They're decent, and at least can actually sing and perform, unlike many artists out there...especially Japanese boy bands. D:

That may be why the pillows or at least Sawao is writting something for them.
Lets keep in mind what Avex is. Avex is the machine of evil that fuels MTVjapan with their pop idols. I don't think Sawao writting what he writes best is grounds for denouncing your pillows fandom. I think it was only natural for him to write pop songs for other people since that's what he writes for the pillows. It makes sense to me and I don't hate him for ever doing it.
