Now that they've signed to Avex, my dream of an Ayumi Hamasaki/Sawao duet could finally be realized .

omnistry: if you're not joking, i will personally hunt you down and cut your throat.
Well, from looking a bit on the site i get the impression that they think that artists try hard to become a major label group and thus don't express their talent fully in conforming (OR SOMETHING; NOTE THAT THIS IS JUST DRAWING CONCLUSIONS FROM THE BITS I READ/LOOKED UP). Their motto is "Something new, Something different."
could be amazingly good could suck ass. I queued up one of the artists on slsk to check out.

I would think the would assume I am. I'm a big fan of Ayumi; but the thought of the pillows and Ayumi doing a song together has been proven to be a sign of the Apocalypse.

I admit that Evolution and a few others I've heard are pretty catchy. She's not all THAT bad to listen to.
BUT THAT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT HAMASAKI IS SHITTY MERCH-POP.

From Gaijinsmash.net:
"Some female Japanese TV/Music stars have had surgery to make their eyes bigger. The biggest/most notable being Ayumi Hamasaki, who's had a surgery or ten. The result of all this is that she no longer looks like a Japanese person, but like some creepy, bug-eyed elf. And not the good elves either, not the ones who bake cookies in trees. The ones who drop from trees and claw your eyes out while sucking your soul away."

Ayumi Hamasaki is a fucking sloth. No way Sawao would dishonor his family by performing with her.
On topic, here's a list of Avex Trax artists
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avex_Trax_artists
If that list is anything like what is on Tearbridge, the pillows have reached an all-time low

Funny. Just checked her website. Her eyes seem Nihongo to me .
Man are we going off-topic here. I took a look at that Avex list. There are a bunch on there that I enjoy listening to. the pillows will be in good company. Avex pulls out all stops to promote their artists; although it seems they go crazy with singles and such. Eh, more cool B-Sides, I guess.

How can one's eyes look like a language? I'm completely missing your point
Edit: I guess they could be compared to the hiragana for "no" (の_の)

Well, they're among the ranks of Do As Inifinity in popularity (millions of fans killing themselves in mass jumpings in front of metro trains when they disbanded) but now they're also gonna be seen a little Pop'ish like... BoA!? WTF!?

I wonder how much influence king had over their visits and tour schedule. I'm just thinking that there is a tiny chance that this will affect their ability to tour America. Even though I guess that was probably funded by Delicious.

Omnistry, I think you mean Nihonjin (Japanese); Nihongo is Japanese as in the language.

Yeah I did. Boku wa baka!
Wait a tick: do you guys think this was what "Gazelle City" was all about?
Come on sunshine Let's be off It's time for a change
So long King Records. Hello Avex.
I'm sad to leave this town and I'm afraid to say good bye
Although Sawao is happy about going to a new label, he's sad to leave his other labelmates like Eastern Youth & Yo-King. Also, he has no idea what the future will hold in his new home. Therefore he's afraid to say good-bye to his home of 12 years.
Maybe I'm looking too much into this. Maybe I'm not. What do you guys think?

Gazelle City is more Manabe's song that Sawao's, but that's not the point.
I highly doubt they knew they would be switching labels almost a year later, unless of course they had a 10 album contract sort of thing. (I'm too lazy to count how many) but this raises another interesting question!
...if the pillows were in fact bound by a # of albums contract, that could explain Turn Back, Synchronized Rockers, and so many albums in such a short time...trying to break free of that
