Actually, upon closer inspection of my dictionary it does say that the word "suzuki" also means "suck" or "to suck".

Ya, to be honest I don't even care about anyone anymore.
My mind has been corrupted to hate Jun since I've been on this site.
son: Daddy, why does God let bad things happen to good people?
father: Jun Suzuki.

He plays great with Chewinggum Weekend (the first album, in particular.) I think Sawao is holding him back.

Haha, yes. I mentioned this before in a conversation with mare. Jun is definately a capable bassist. If you listen to Little Busters and then Runners High, you will notice even Kashima went more toward a punk-style bass playing in their newer works.
...and don't forget they are on a major label...I don't know how restrictive they are compared to US record labels like WB and Sony, but, eh...

Seriously. Shut the fuck up with the Jun-bashing comments. It's annoying, and was excessive...a long time ago.
You guys have to realize that much of Jun's bass work in the pillows now is due to the pillows style itself. Not Jun.
Think about the early-to-mid pillows' music style. I'm talking about Kool Spice, Living Field, and Please Mr. Lostman. The basswork is more complex and varied because the style allows it. Take basically any of the songs from that time - Angel Fish, Bye Bye Sweet Pain, Swanky Street. The bass is varied - not just hitting root notes (which many of you seem to think of as being Satanic). So yeah. It works for the style, jazzy and...PML (what, epic power-pop rock?)
But now think about their newer stuff like My Foot. It's more pop-sounding, streamlined, and...face it, it's more "generic rock" sounding. Not that that's a bad thing. So now take time to think about a good new song like Gazelle City. I don't exactly want Jun playing all around the fretboard on that one. Just staying on D...then switching to A....then back, that's fine. That's all that's needed, and that's pretty much all I'd want in that song. It just fits.
Jun can pull out a great bassline when he needs to: THR, Funny Bunny. But for most of their songs right now, the style just doesn't really work out with varied and complex bass. That's what I think, anyway.
And yeah, Jun IS quite an accomplished musician. The Chewing Gum Weekend, and...uh...Fragments? Hell yeah, Jun DOES know what he's doing.
If you want to complain about the bass, then complain about Sawao and how he writes songs now. That's the key.

I wouldn't say he's being held back. I think his playing style better suits the pillows' current music style. He's perfectly capable as a bassist, and I think part of that's probably knowing when simpler is better.

yes!
seriously, people. it doesn't automatically make you "cool" to fellate Ueda and Kashima and completely bash Jun.

I see that. But my post was directed towards those who were talking smack. I'm well aware there are people who appreciate his contributions to the band.
