Nice upload, but I'm going to wait to buy my own copy this time. Tidus did Discharge or the DVD come with sticker(s) for the first press?
Yes, there's a Discharge sticker with that dog going nuts on it. It's pretty cool.

Cool thanks. Then the DVD came with no sticker.

I'm really digging the album. I had low expectations, and it's surprisingly great.

This is really good. Way better than I expected it to be. To me, it really shows off what creativity in music that Sawao seems to be holding back now that the pillows are in the spot light. Can't take deep story though. Reminds me too much of the new pillows sound that I like the least. I might need to listen to it a little bit more. Thanks for the upload!
You may be high...
In the end it's not too bad, I'd like to have the lyrics if possible for the burn bread in my clear sea (I'm not typing that all out again, from now on it's Burn Bread) and Deep Story. Burn Bread was actually my favorite of the songs I haven't heard yet. It sounds like it's a song about a paranoid introvert? And the smell of burnt bread, and swimming fish. Angel and Deep Story had nice arrangements. I'm ok with there being two moonlights but I think Purple is better. The way he sings "In the silver moonlight, the silver moonlight" just doesn't grab me very well. Silent Ballerina... it's unremarkable. There is very little to like or dislike with it. Overall a 3/5.
Somebody should write a song in Sawao-style Engrish called THE PIPE IS MINE AND SO AM I. Make it a hidden track on the IM cover album.
I think I'll take you up on that.

I feel like Burn Bread wasn't fleshed out as well as it could've been. The chorus is really nice, I genuinely like it. It's just the rest of the song that's not that great. Trying to listen Sawao get trough the predictable, rudimentary lyrics of the verses is almost painful.

Re: Sawao Yamanaka solo album - Discharge - 6/23/2010
Sorry guys, I can't type up the lyrics cause I let my girlfriend borrow the CD... I'm sure someone else bought it though. Whoever has it, type up those lyrics! Discharge: I like this. I liked it much more than I thought I would... but I think starting from Silent Ballerina, it just gets a little disjointed. I really like all the preceding tracks a lot. Music Creature's vocals are a little over the top, but all the other songs fit really well. Then after Purple Moonlight, you hit the complete filler that is Silent Ballerina. Then you get to Deep Story... which doesn't fit IMO. I like the chorus and the verses are alright... but I don't know. It's alright. Birthday is a good song that we've all heard before... and then Silver Moonlight... in my eyes it is just an inferior "white version" of Purple Moonlight with uninspired "lively" guitar playing. Burn Bread is a cool song. I like it. Dawn Speech is solid stuff as well, lots of harmonies going on in there, nice. I really like Angel too. The second verse is cool sounding... and it reminds me of Clare Butterfly. So yeah, I enjoyed this. Edit: Some of the solos seemed too brief and rushed... I didn't like it in a lot of songs. It missed that Manabe touch where they "fit". It just seemed like they were there because they "had" to be sometimes. I thought the solo in Burn Bread failed to express anything about the song's sentiment...

English -> Japanese -> English. Make it sound more Sawao-nese.

Whenever I want to make a poster, I can never find enough big pictures to use. Anyway, I really like this CD so far. So nice to get another song with Sawao and Yoko singing together. My favorite so far is Purple Moonlight.

I agree, a poster of that would be awesome. High-res would be much appreciated.
Discharge:
First off, Birthday redone? Pretty cool, I always liked this song. Wish it weren't almost identical to the original[wait, it is new right?], but it's alright.
I have no idea what Sawao is saying in Deep Story, I really like it, but I wish Sawao had just sung it in Japanese- it probably would have sounded better [and for the amount I understand it, it might as well be Japanese].
I don't understand why Sawao did two versions of the same song, sure Silver moonlight is more upbeat than Purple Moonlight, but what's the point?
Burn Bread is really good, it sounds new and thought-out, not just the generic pop rehash like we've gotten used to hearing. I have the same gripe with it as Deep Story- if you want to do English songs Sawao, please get someone to help you translate.
