I just got in from my drive back to chicago.

The venue's no crowd serfing rule was pretty lame. I saw one unfortunate crowd surfer get pulled off and I suspect thrown out. I was hoping for Sawao stage dive again, but I bet the rules apply to musicians too.

Also the crowd was pretty tame. I grabbed a few buddies I had made at the venue and stirred them into rocker jumping and hooping when everyone was just standing around. However, I was dissapointed to be the only one I can see jumping and rocking out to Century Creepers. (OMG THAT WAS AWESOME! I HAD A BRAINGASM! Sawao's right, the solo WILL make you cry, If I wasnt sweating so much I felt like I would have.)
Also New Animal and Droopy sound great, I cant wait to have a crank-up-able version of my own. Definitly more rocky, but still tight guitar sounds, no feedback squeaks.
The upsides to having a less-lively crowd is that slower songs were much easier to groove too. You didnt have to rock out to songs like one life just because its a song that the pillows are playing.
I was floored when they came out for blues drive monster at the end. That's always been my favorite song from the FLCL stuff. I charged through the 4 lines of people to the front for that.

in the end, sweating, exhausted and with a big smile on my face, I had thought my enthusiasm for The Pillows' music was waning up until that concert, but when I was rocking out to century creepers and everyone else was just bobbing their head I knew I was still as in love with em as ever. 8)

I didnt catch the pillows when they ducked out the back, but I still left with a fullfilled feeling.

Also, did anyone notice how the bassist of the Noodles seemed like she definitely would have rather been doing anything that wasn't "play bass for the Noodles."

"Ladybird girl got to talk to Sawao a bit, he was giddy like a school girl."

Damn straight! I would have made out with him if he let me hahahaha. No words can describe meeting a genius like that and having him hug you hahaha. I'm sure nothing I accomplish personally in my bands, short of signing some multimillion contract ha, will compare to gracing the likes of Sawao and the rest of the band. What amazing inspiration. God bless. Here are some links to the other bands I was talking about in line...

Machinae Supremacy (video game metal) http://www.myspace.com/machinaesupremacy

Minibosses (nintendo cover band)
http://www.myspace.com/minibossess

The Shizz (minibosses forum)
http://theshizz.org/forum/index.php?s=5 ... act=SF&f=8
(this one is a great site for video game cover information and a great way to contact people who do video game covers. They run an online cover contest called Dwelling of Duels every month...its a neat time!)

Where was that Japanese bookstore located again where you gentlemen bought the remains of the Pillows CDs??? I'll be sure to check it out when they get another shipment in :) Thanks again for everything, Happy Easter and see you all around!

The first song was Grease that's all I know because I got it on video. They played She, Her and Ingrid Said and Cover Me Shakespear and Lemongrass Foo Foo. I dunno the order, and I know there were more...
I didn't know any of the song names, I'm just listening to them on Youtube and remembering if they layed them...

Mr Droopy sounds friggin awesome. :shred: I'm so looking forward to these new songs. The last couple singles left me a bit undersatisfied, but now I'm anticipating the next album even more than before.
