To GR: I was only referring to the last joke I made (my response to ta12), as I frequently make jokes that range from lowbrow to highbrow comedy.

The first quote you made was merely a musing - while not calling anyone an idiot, I purport that if one should find that I am not a decent drinking buddy, they are likely mentally challenged. Not highbrow or lowbrow - simply facetious.

The second quote is, in fact, highbrow - but it is also lowbrow. The mere allusion to anal sex is clearly the lowbrow portion, and only a minute aspect of the humor. However, there is a subtle (albeit the main function of the joke) accent of sarcasm and irony, if one considers the post that precedes it. In its most truthful function, it is a commentary on the irrelevance and absurdity of the post it is rebutting (i.e. mimicking) - by being irrelevant and absurd itself.

The third quote is entirely highbrow. It is 100% pure sarcasm - I had obviously not considered making a joke about his mother. The deadpan (which admittedly takes less skill on an internet forum) delivery of an absurd statement provides levity to end the post.

Edit: One must also note that highbrow and lowbrow comedy are not exclusively separated by intellectual requirements. "Highbrow" comedy can be equally accessible to people of all levels of intelligence, although it often is not. There are simply certain recurring themes to it: dry humor, deadpan comedy, sarcasm, irony, esoteric references - which make it easily distinguishable from lowbrow comedy.

Once again, this entire post was simply a deadpan delivery of a "pseudo-lesson" that masks the levity behind it. I mean, a lesson on humor?
