i just cleaned up some rather spammy posts. and we were doing so well...

anyway, i'm not too excited about it. i kinda like bakuon drop, but i'm probably not gonna buy the album until later.

Sawao producing for noodles is a side project.

I haven't posted in a while I know... and I could have said something about this a long time ago but I didn't have all of the details so I didn't. But Sawao told me about this way before it was discussed on the forum. He expressed to me that he had started a new band for fun to play rock and roll songs with some friends. He described it as kind of "like a Nirvana". He seemed like he was having a really good time. This was back when he first started the recording process.

I am not sure how many of you have played in bands that actually go anywhere (maybe some of you have)... but when you do you get a little tired of playing the same songs with the same people, over and over and over. Playing kick ass straight forward rock songs like you did when you started out is a great way to recharge your batteries. I wouldn't be surprised if as a result of having fun with these songs, the Pillows kick more ass in the next album than the last two. Anyway, the songs rock and I can understand what he meant now about being "like a Nirvana". It is catchy, striped down, kick ass rock. And I really love the idea of Sawao fronting a 3 piece. I would kill to see these guys in a small club in Tokyo. I bet their live show would knock us all over.

You see, we wouldn't have any problems with a stripped-down, catchy, kickass rock band if they didn't suck.

I don't care what it was supposed to be. It's still music and it's still crap.

i'm with jetblack. sorry. it's pretty solid music. not nearly as good as the pillows, but good nonetheless.

It's not solid music. If it was, people wouldn't have to make excuses for it and rationalize the way it sounds.

Can people be objective for two seconds. Even if it is a way for sawao to "recharge his batteries" and even if it's supposed to be simple and fun, that dosen't mean it dosen't have to be good music.

i never said it was "outstanding" or "wonderful" merely "pretty solid" and "good."

Bakuon Drop is nothing like Nirvana. NO SELF CONTROL is like Nirvana.

Mellie, we get it. I'm not listening to it and I'm not going out of my way to bash it. I'm just defending my views. I'm trying not to look like the negative elitst that everyone that loves The Predators likes to make us out to be. Just as you and the other people that enjoy something have the right to praise the certain thing and express their desire for more of it, we have the right to say why we aren't impressed and state what we want from it.

No one is saying people don't have to right to say they don't like it or express their opinion but I wish people would do so and move on. The bitching gets OLD QUICK and no ones is going to change their minds. If someone likes it, their going to weather other people critize it or not and if they don't they won't. Talking about how bad "Sawao sucks" or "How gay Jiro is" isn't going to change that and frankly, some of us are tired of hearing this "Sawao sucks mentality." If people hate him so much, WTF are they doing here?
