Re: [2011.10.12] Horn Again Tour DVD, DISCHARGE PART 2 (lawl
I may be the only one on here who bought it...
(Spoilers marked in white)
Limp Tomorrow: Sounded great, instead of Kelly's Duck the intro was Limp Tomorrow's repeating notes, it went on for a few plays and then each member joined into it one at a time. The dual mic only came in use for this song and NKWB, if I recall. Good start.
Give Me Up!: Sounded ok
The Air Resister: yup, that's the Air Resister...
Nobody knows what blooms: Sounded very nice, the sfx from the record version were entirely absent.
Purple Apple: One of their songs that is waaaaaay better live, the crowd gets into it with hand claps, as seen before. The solo section this time was another neat surprise, the two guitarists would play different parts of the solo, passing it back and forth, then playing it together.
Moon is Mine: A girl in red in the front row was really going nuts when the camera cut to her!

Nice song.
Sad Fad Love: Sounded ok, I'm likely to skip it though.
Comic Sonic: It's Comic Sonic.
Biography: Sounded better live, some of the droniness of the record version was absent, can't say the same for Lily, My Sun though.
Orange Film Garden: Played well, cool song.
Lily, My Sun: I wasn't digging it, sounded way too much like the record. It looks like a lot of effort to sing this thing too, far too wordy and nuanced. He really worked up a sweat up there.
Carnival: It's Carnival, but it's not the best performance I've seen of it. Sounded like Manabe was hitting a few of the notes in a strange way, was a little messy.
The third eye: Played very well.
Brilliant Crown: Sounds very nice live, but yikes, Sawao got murdered on the finish. YEAAA.... *pause* ...EAHHHHH!

It seems too difficult to sing, rivers of sweat down the sides of his face. I don't think they will play it much beyond this tour. And I think his guitar malfunctioned after the climax because he was strumming it tentatively and making frustrated faces. There was some droning noise afterwards that the mohawk roadie had to come on stage to fix.
Emerald City: After tuning and testing his guitar, they just went right into Emerald City. They played it well but Sawao sang it somewhat tentatively, I don't think he rebounded well enough from the previous song's finish to give the proper vocals to this one, it's unfortunate. I think he could have used a longer drink and some more time to breathe.
Movement: Sounded great.
Sono mirai wa ima: Always great live, I think manabe mucked up one part but it's forgiveable lol.

Little Busters: Awesome as always.
Doggie Howl: Pretty good live, I'm not hatin' on it. it's similar to Purple Apple in that I'm not fond of the record version of it.
enc:
Tabasco Disco: Lots of smiling faces in the crowd, maybe we aren't crazy for it but the chorus is fun to sing along to. Shinichiro was wearing a small feather mask over his eyes, I'm guessing it may have been a punchline to something he alluded to in the band member introduction MC.
Heart is There: Part two of "get the crowd to dance while singing broken english". I think they played it better on the LGTY dvd.
enc:
No Surrender: Totally Awesome! Half way through, before the solo even, Sawao stops playing his guitar and just sings, then takes it off during the solo. He takes the mic out of the stand and steps up to sing the finish, the crowd was really on fire for it. There was a part where the camera caught a woman crying. Once the song was over, Sawao jumped into the crowd for some love. Once he was pulled back on stage, he did a comical "getting too old for this shit" kind of routine, and he thanked the crowd multiple times for not dropping him (I'm guessing).
misc thoughts: Cameras caught a lot of pretty girls! :3
I saw a lot of people really misty eyed, despite the setlist not being very ballad heavy or heavy on trademark powerhouse songs. There was a noticeable amount of emotion coming from the crowd. Busters are hella proud.
