Well, so much for my earlier statement that I've never seen a show actually sell out. The April 14th show in Kyoto is sold out...and I didn't get a ticket. :( Sadness....
The one I just went to had tickets available at the door, too. Sucks. I wonder if it has anything to do with the band who is also playing at the show, TOMOVSKY...anyone ever heard of them? I haven't...

That's interesting. I mean, I like the art, but I wonder what role he'd play at a concert. Wish I could see it and then know! hehe

You should go anyway. There might be scalpers, or you might end up getting lucky and getting a ticket at the door. That's what happened to me with a sold out Pillows show at Club Que.

TOMOVSKY is cool, but he is very indie. I don't know anyone besides myself who is a fan of him.
I wouldn't expect him to play much part in sellin' out a show.

Well, I'm going to go by the venue today and see if they have tickets...they might just not have them at Pier (I can hope, right?) :) But going on the day of without much hope probably won't be a good idea, because the show is on a Thursday night and over an hour from my home/work in Osaka (the show's in Kyoto). If I get a ticket, I'll pretty much have to change out of my suit at work and leave from there, get there just in time, and then leave right after the show in order to get back home before the trains stop. :) A bit of a hassle if I don't even have a good chance of getting in. :P Looking at the venue website today, i think I know why it's sold out - it looks positively tiny, and all the bands they have on the schedule for this month (they don't even show April yet) are cover bands. Hehehe..

the 15th anniversary show at shibuya-ax was sold out. but sawao made some comment about how he heard it was hard to get tickets... making it sound like that was kind of a rare thing.

there was a person on the japanese bbs who had been a pillows fan for 10 years or something. there were also fans who mentioned having children: chibi busters. :D

10 years of being a fan really isn't surprising, given they've been around for 16 and their first big album was what, 9 years ago? That's not even *that* much longer than we've been fans. 10 years isn't that long...there's gotta be some people out there who've been fans for 15! :)
