[i]I know you[/i] is one of my favorite songs by Pillows. And I have problem understanding this verse:
大草原の小さなフィクサー
世界からあしらわれて
本当の色に育(そだ)った
花畑(はなばたけ)またいでる

I can translate it word by word but it does not make sense:
A little fixer of the grand prairie
Manipulated by the world
Grown into true colors
Striding over the flower garden

So the flowers in the garden are manipulated? Then what is "fixer" then? 政治の黒幕？
How does this verse fit into the entire song?

The other parts of the song are not difficult to understand. The lyrics are quite moving.
Basically the singer is talking to "you", telling you that he knows your loneliness, your sadness, how you hate this world, and that he thinks you should not give up, and that he believes that you can make miracle happen if you don't lose your passion and willing to give a full swing at every chance ball!

In this instance, I think that "フィクサー" is a case of gairaigo rather than wasei-eigo, and literally means "fixer/repairer". "Little fixer on the prairie", "the little repairer of the prairie", that kind of meaning. It also might be worth noting that "大草原の小さな家" is the Japanese title of the old TV series "Little House on the Prairie". Sawao seems to love old American media, so I wouldn't be surprised if that lyric was derived from there.

Also I looked up the TV series "Little House on the Prairie", and there is no one who is a fixer/repairer...
