Hmm. . .Want To Sleep For. . .is pretty cool. . .
But yeah, it's already on the Turn Back disc =P

Ame Ga Futtekita You Na Ki Ga Suru ( It Feels Like It's Gonna Rain (If I'm correct) )
This song has something in particular. Gonna relisten.
+1
I'm really not into Kimi Ga Iru or I Need Somebody, or really even Ame Ni Utaeba
Lol, those are the songs I thought were pretty alright, haha.

Now listening to number 12 - Sayounara Tansai Wakusei. I cannot recall I've listened to this song. It has a more 'White Incarnation' vibe.
Hmm... more specifically it's got that WI atmosphere, like on songs of 'Paper Moon' , 'Kono mama koko de' and 'Our Halley's Comet'.

haha! This one really suits me. *got that pleasent feeling when you find out about a new good pillows song.

Okay, looks like this album has something to offer to me after all (about 3 songs).

edit: Obviously that solo of Ame Ga Futtekita. . .is quite un-Manabesque.
Also I really like how Sawao's voice has changed over the year, for the better and the worse.
He has quite a range of vocal timbres all over the discography. Sloppy, Nasal, Crunchy, Gentle, Hoarse,

Moon Gold is a terrific album.

Kimi ga Iru is one of my favorite opening tracks to any pillows album.

This is my Fashion is catchy as fuck. A very fun track.

I Need Somebody took some time to grow on me, but Manabe's guitar work and the awesome chorus ultimately won me over.

Dear, My First Step is, admittedly, my least favorite on the album. It isn't at all a bad song, but it hasn't left as strong an impression on me as the rest of the album. Hell, I can hardly remember what it sounds like. The chorus is pretty good, though, IIRC.

Ame ga Futtekita Youna ki ga Suru is probably my favorite overall. The guitar work and Sawao's 'Ah-Ah-Ah's really do it for me. Great song.

Ame ni Utaeba is a great song as well. 'Singin' in the Rain, Walkin' on the Rainbow'-- that shit takes me back to my earliest days as a pillows fan. Great chorus, cool solo. Sawao's final yell of "LET'S GO" gets me every time. Shit, I don't know. This one may actually be my favorite on the album.

Kiss Me Baby is awesome. It's got a great beat. I love the chorus, too. The little bass n' drum bit before Manabe's great solo is also pretty baller.

Asoko he Kaeritai is much like Dear, My First Step. Good, but not great. Not a huge fan of this song's chorus. The solo saves it for me.

Hello Girl is a pleasant slow jam. I'm a sucker for the chorus. "HARRO GARU."

Foreigner. It's aight.

Want to Sleep For... is really good. It feels kind of like a precursor to superior tracks on later albums such as Naked Shuffle and The Killing Field.

Sayonara Tansai Wakusei is a decent ending. It sums up the style of the album fairly well.

I've always had a soft spot for Moon Gold. When I first began to get into the pillows, this album was something of a holy grail to me. Aside from This is My Fashion and I Need Somebody, I actually didn't get to hear any of the songs until a few years into my fandom. After listening to most everything else they'd ever released, it was extremely exciting and rewarding to discover Moon Gold for the first time. Even if you find that it's not your favorite album, it's still a lot of fun to go back and see how it all began. They've come a long way since '91, but have managed, to this day, to keep my interest. There aren't a lot of bands out there with that sort of staying power for me, and even on this early album, I can hear exactly why it is that I'm still crazy about the pillows today.

Dear, My 'First' Step and Ame Ga Futtekita Youna Ki Ga Suru might be the best official back-to-back songs on an album of the pillows.

I've reserved that spot for Ice Pick / Kanojo wa Kyou, but I can see what you mean here. :groovin:
