 Re: Smile
Great, great album. What I like about it is that it doesn't seem to follow a particular pattern, but it's straight rock 'n' roll of the highest quality. It has a very 'raw' sound to it, mostly thanks to Manabe's fantastic guitar work. Easily in my Top 5 pillows albums.
Favorite track: Vain Dog. No arguments there.

 Re: Smile
Yup, this one was the "oddball" album. A lot of long-running bands have them.
For me, it's Kono Yo no Hate Made.

These resemble my impressions, as well.

 Re: Smile
Always loved the texture that Thunder Whales Picnic has, it create some sort of odd atmosphere everytime I listen it. GMGN comes as a second, mostly because of Manabe's superb guitar work.

 Re: Smile
Good Morning Good News for me. Thunder Whales Picnic and Smile are close behind.
I really like the verse to Vain Dog but not the chorus. And I've always found Monster C.C. to be a bit overrated.

I don't think C.C. is overrated. It doesn't even get talked about that much around here.
It's a solid track and it has its moments. But I don't love it every time I hear it. The "What's my name!?" part gets me 90% of the time, however. And that solo is pretty legendary, imo.
