harry potter [spoilers]
you know you read it.
i was a bit disappointed by the identity of the half-blood prince. i felt it didn't add anything really interesting to the plot.

shhh can we make like a harry potter no spoilers thread too? or should we just have one? Um, personally I am like... half way in. I am enjoying it so far. I'm starting to notice the flaws in the writing more than ever, but I still really love it. I'm not quite as hooked as I was with the other five, but the book isn't a dissapointment either.

Avoid 4chan like the plague.

I was really tempted to post the spoiler. Then I decided not to. I really hate having things spoiled for me. Stupid golden rule.
my friend read it in less then 12 hours.
I did too, so I could get it done before school started the next day..
i was a bit disappointed by the identity of the half-blood prince. i felt it didn't add anything really interesting to the plot.
That was my first thought too. She could have titled it about "beginning the war" or something.. ah well,
I hope Snape dies.. can't stand the thought of anyone having hair that oily..
I liked it. although my friend spoiled the ending for me about what happens to Dumbledore right before I got there and that definetly killed the mood for me. But still, I was too surprised with how Rowling is connecting everything from the other books haphazardly and getting away with it with adding more magic. XD

I finished it in about...36 hours owning it, like 16 actually reading.
All my predictions were wrong: Who was the Prince (I guessed Hagrid) and who Harry would probably hook up with (I guessed Luna). Perfectly plausible, but just wrong.
I found it nothing too spectacular, well that was when my brother asked me when I was on page 498. It explained alot of questions that could be formed. and I guess sets the 7th book off well. It got pretty nice towards the end, but still I didn't think it was something REALLY memorable. Well maybe it was but I read parts of the book too fast to remember.

i loved it. i almost cried (anyone who's read it knows what i mean).
i always knew some things were going to happen. i knew who was going to get defense against the dark arts. i knew that the person that Harry hooked up with never stopped liking him.
i loved the shit outta this book and can't wait for the next.

odd. i definitely had my money on the dark lord being the half blood prince. extremely talented, twisted, half-muggle.. and even if he WASNT, im SHOCKED nobody even thought of it. why wouldnt harry have even thought of it?
anyways.. somethings not right. after 5 books of dumbledore being absolutely right about everything, i dont think he died because he was wrong about snape. something else is going on. remember.. snape had an unbreakable vow to help malfoy.. he would have DIED if he didnt..
*shrug* book 4 is by far the best.

yeah, but it'd be lame to do the guessing game and have it be voldemort again. i was hoping for a new character, myself.
if he was really on the good side, he could have just sacrificed himself. or it's possible he didn't initially know what he was getting into. i'd have to look again, but i vaguely recall that he only acted like he knew what narcissa was asking, and they never said it outright.
it'll be interesting to see how rowling resolves that one. now we just have to wait another two years.
